Cotton sowing work on 1.35 million acres of Awati County has begun in an orderly manner
As the temperature gradually rises, Awati County actively guides farmers to seize the favorable moisture conditions, speed up the sowing progress, and lay a solid foundation for increasing production and income this year.
On the afternoon of April 6, in a cotton field in Duolang Community, Awati Town, Awati County, a precision seeder equipped with a Beidou navigation system was conducting sowing operations, laying drip irrigation tapes, covering films, and drilling holes. All the other steps were completed in one go, and the scene looked like a busy and orderly spring sowing scene. Cotton grower Yang Binbin and his workers are following the seeder to carefully check the quality of film laying and sowing to ensure that the sowing rows are straight and the seeds are planted evenly.
Yang Binbin, a cotton grower in Duolang Community, Awati Town, Awati County, said: “I have planted 430 acres of land this year. Starting from the end of March, I have completed the early stage of fertilizing, plowing, harrowing, spraying, etc. Preparation work. There are currently two seeders in sowing operations, each machine can sow more than 100 acres of land every day. All plots can be sown today.”
In order to better complete the cotton sowing work and improve the sowing efficiency, Awati County focuses on quality and strictly follows the general requirements of “precision agriculture, scientific application, and all seedlings in one sowing”, grasping the sowing period, comparing quality, According to the progress of the competition, the “one-stop” operation of soil preparation, sowing, pipe laying and water dripping was adopted, which bought time for early and full cotton seedlings to emerge.
“This year our town’s cotton planting task is more than 1,800 acres. As of now, 1,400 acres of cotton have been sown, and the remaining 400 acres are planned to be completed before April 10th. Modern agricultural machinery was used for this sowing operation. It saves a lot of manpower and material resources and greatly improves the planting efficiency.” Turhong Turaike, member of the Party Committee and Chairman of the National People’s Congress of Awati Town, Awati County, said: “In the later stage, our town will follow up in a timely manner based on the emergence of seedlings. The drip irrigation and water replenishment work in cotton fields ensures an increase in cotton production and income in our town.”
It is understood that Awati County plans to plant about 1.35 million acres of cotton this year, and so far more than 60,000 acres have been sown. On the basis of continuously improving the modernization and intelligent level of agricultural machinery operations, agricultural technicians at the county and township levels go deep into the fields in a timely manner to provide farmers with a full range of solutions for land preparation, sowing and other processes. Mechanized technical services guide farmers to seize the current favorable climate, speed up sowing progress, promote the transformation of the cotton industry from quantity to quality, and make every effort to ensure the smooth completion of cotton sowing work.
