Characteristics and varieties of chlorine fiber fabrics

1. Characteristics of chlorine fiber fabric

Chlorine fiber is one of the earliest synthetic fibers. It has many advantages such as water resistance, chemical resistance, corrosion resistance and non-flammability. Therefore, it is used in clothing, especially in interior decoration. The application has achieved great success. The main features of its fabrics are as follows:

⑴Chlorine fiber fabric is a non-flammable fabric. It will be extinguished immediately after leaving the flame and will not continue to burn. It is a good material for non-combustible curtains and carpets.

⑵ Chlorine fiber fabric not only has good wear resistance, but also has good warmth retention. Its warmth retention is better than cotton and wool, which are 50% and 10~20% higher respectively.

⑶ Polychloric fiber fabric has good electrostatic insulation. This property can be used to blend with other fibers to make underwear with the effect of treating rheumatism. The reason is that when it rubs against other fibers, it often becomes negatively charged.

⑷The disadvantage of chlorine fiber fabric is that the softening point is very low. It usually starts to soften and shrink when the temperature reaches 60~70℃. Therefore, you should be extra careful when washing and ironing, and try not to iron chlorine fiber fabrics.

2. Varieties of chlorine fiber fabrics

Chlorine fiber fabrics are limited in their application scope due to their intolerance to heat, and are mostly used in decorative and industrial fabrics. There are not many varieties of chlorine fiber fabrics used in clothing, mainly including chlorine/top velvet, sticky/chlorine flannel and chlorine/rich plain cloth.

⑴Chlorine/top plaid velvet is woven using the thermal shrinkage of chlorine fiber and wool that does not shrink when heated. The wool protrudes from the surface to obtain striped plaid velvet. This kind of fabric has a soft feel and beautiful appearance. It is an excellent material for curtains, curtains and other decorations, and can also be used as a fabric for evening dresses.

⑵Viscose/Chlorine Flannel Fabric: 70% viscose and 30% chlorine fiber are blended into yarn. The woven flannel fabric is resistant to heat and not easy to burn. It can be used as interior decoration cloth and underwear for the elderly and children.

⑶Chlorine/Fuping cloth is made of chlorine fiber and Fuping fiber blended in a ratio of 1:1. Its fabric properties are very similar to viscose/chlorine flannel cloth and can be used as furniture coverings. AANGMKJLOI87
