Tailoring is the first step in making clothes in a garment factory, and the salary is considered moderate locally. Among them, workers in the packaging and thread-cutting processes receive relatively little, with a monthly salary of about 1,500 to 3,000 yuan. The left-behind elderly people in this town work part-time as thread-cutters while doing housework. Many of them get several large bags of trousers from the factory through acquaintances’ introductions, take them home and cut the threads. After they are finished, they send them back and receive wages.
Grandma Wang, who came from the countryside near this town, has been working part-time as a thread cutter for seven or eight years. She introduced a day’s work and said, “I start working after breakfast in the morning, and go to the vegetable field around 4:30 in the afternoon. I pick vegetables for dinner, and after finishing housework in the evening, I start cutting threads. I have always done this job. The quantity of goods mainly depends on the orders from the factory. In recent years, the quantity of goods has been relatively large.”
With the economic and social development of Qingshan, the increase of employment opportunities and the development of beautiful countryside construction, the development environment is increasingly optimized, and more and more people working in other places are appearing. He came up with the idea of returning to his hometown to set up a factory for development.
