I used to make a living by working outside, but later a blanket processing factory was established in the village, and I stayed here. I feel that life is getting more and more promising.”

Liuhe New Village has used entrepreneurial workshops and supporting public buildings to help more than 200 people in the surrounding areas achieve nearby employment and increase their income. The municipal intangible cultural heritage-wool weaving craft has also been revived. In the window of the entrepreneurial workshop, a giant wool carpet with thousands of ink paintings is particularly eye-catching. According to Yang Xiaoqiang, this large-scale “Green Mountain High Hidden Picture” wool carpet is very labor-intensive to make. “Before the actual production started, a lot of investment was made in the preliminary work. The wool needed to be dyed to customize the color, and the preparation took three months to weave. It took three people six months to complete this rug.” These custom-made pattern works are expensive, but happily, “through carpet exhibitions in Shanghai, Xining, Guangdong and other regions, we have successfully We sold many custom-made pictures.”
