The United States and Canada recall children’s hooded bathrobes made in China
On April 15, 2019, the U.S. Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada announced a recall of Chinese-made bathrobes.
The recalled product is H&M children’s hooded bathrobe, 100% cotton. One is gray with white, pink or white or blue lining. There are buttons on the right side of the chest. The size is suitable for toddlers between 6 months and 3 years old. The other one is white, with a hat pattern of a cat face and two children, equipped with a belt, and the size is suitable for toddlers 6-12 months old.
After random inspection by Health Canada, it was found that the product did not meet the flammability requirements. This type of pajamas is loose and can easily come into contact with fire sources such as stoves and candles. Once ignited, it will burn quickly and may cause serious burns to a large area of the child’s body.
The recalled products were sold in the United States from October 2018 to March 2019 and in Canada from January 2019 to March 2019, priced at 25 -$30. The recall involves about 980 products in the United States and about 60 products in Canada.
So far, no reports of accidents or casualties have been received.
CPSC and Health Canada recommend that you stop using this product immediately and contact H&M for a full refund or a $20 gift card. .
