Nike launches three sustainable and environmentally friendly footwear products
American sportswear and footwear giant Nike will launch three new footwear products in the summer of 2019 as part of its recognition of sustainable development.
The Nike PlantColor collection, featuring AirMax 95 and Blazer Low, is inspired by “alternative ways of making color” and uses plant-based dyes.
Nike Flyleather Earth Day Pack shoes are made of the group’s “super material” – Flyleather, which is made of at least 50% recycled natural leather fibers.
The third one released is NikeVaporMax2Random, which uses excess Flykint yarn that would otherwise go into landfills.
Nike was recently selected as one of the companies that has used the equivalent of more than 1 billion PET bottles through recycling recycled fibers.
In its latest financial statement, the group announced that total revenue for the second quarter ended November 30, 2018 increased by 10% to US$9.4 billion, on a currency-neutral basis Calculated growth is 14%.
