Increased Chinese purchases support rising Pakistani cotton yarn export prices
In the past week, the prices of cotton and cotton yarn in Pakistan continued to rise, and the US dollar export price increased. As the falling rupee exchange rate stimulates exports, demand from downstream companies is currently very strong.
Although domestic cotton yarn prices have increased, domestic yarn demand in Pakistan is strong, and the price of 20-count carded yarn has increased by 5.25%. Cotton yarn export prices rose by 1.1%, and China’s increased purchasing interest will continue to support cotton yarn prices. Domestic cotton prices in Pakistan also increased by 200 rupees to 8,800 rupees/maund.
Polyester staple fiber prices have remained stable for several weeks. 1.4D polyester staple fiber is still 193 rupees/kg. The price of imported Chinese polyester staple fiber has risen to 1.2 US dollars/kg. As mentioned above, domestic polyester staple fiber manufacturers have very good profits and will not raise prices in the near future. The price of polyester yarn also did not change. The price of polyester and cotton yarn continued to rise. The price of 20-count blended yarn increased by 1.34%. The price of polyester and viscose yarn remained stable. The prices of viscose staple fiber and viscose yarn did not change.
