EU issues consumer warning on Chinese-made girls’ sportswear
On November 24, 2017, the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX) issued a consumer warning (alert number: A12/1619/17) on Chinese-made “MissVanity” brand girls’ sportswear. The notifying country in this case is Cyprus. The product notified this time is girls’ sportswear, which consists of a gray hooded jacket and a pair of trousers. Hood with hood cord and drawcord at waist. The product style/model is ZF-414.WDC. The barcode is 3412-01234568-3412. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development industry classification code (OECD Portal Category) is 67000000-Clothing (clothing).
The hood cord on the hood of the above-mentioned sportswear and the drawstring on the waist may entangle children during various activities, posing a risk of injury or strangulation to children. This product does not comply with the requirements of the relevant European standard EN14682.
At present, retailers have taken delisting measures on the above products.
