Chairman Cao Jiachang of the Textile Chamber of Commerce and his delegation went to Guangdong and Zhejiang for investigation

From March 20th to 25th, Cao Jiachang, President of the China Textile ImportExport Chamber of Commerce, led staff from the Textile Department, Office and Information Department to Guangdong and Zhejiang to carry out Industry research.

On March 21, Chairman Cao Jiachang was invited by the Hong Kong Textile Chamber of Commerce to attend the Guangdong Fashion Week “Yunxiang” original women’s wear brand launch conference to help build independent brands in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Guangdong Fashion Week has been held continuously for many years and has a profound impact on the fashion industry. This fashion week gathers top fashion brand resources, catwalk shows, trend information, static exhibitions, summit forums and other activities, presenting a new and prosperous new ecology of the fashion industry in the Greater Bay Area.

On March 23, President Cao went to Hangzhou to attend the “Seventh Hangzhou Global Entrepreneurs Forum and China Consumer Goods Expo” hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles. With the theme of “Gathering Development Power to Create a Future of Cooperation” and focusing on key topics such as “promoting high-level opening up, sharing cooperation and development opportunities, and jointly promoting global economic recovery and growth”, the forum firmly supports trade globalization and actively responds to and practices ” One Belt, One Road” initiative. During the period, President Cao gave a report on the theme of “China’s Textile and Apparel Foreign Trade Situation and Prospects”, focusing on my country’s textile and apparel foreign trade development situation in 2022, changes in the international textile and apparel foreign trade environment in the post-epidemic era, and analyzing industry development trends in 2023.

Afterwards, Chairman Cao and his delegation visited the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce and held discussions with Deputy Director Chen Zhicheng, exchanging opinions on the current operating status, difficulties faced by foreign trade enterprises, and the industry’s export situation. The two parties expressed that they will carry out all-round cooperation in various forms to jointly promote the highquality development of the textile and apparel industry in Zhejiang.

The next day, Chairman Cao and his delegation investigated the key member companies of the China Chamber of Commerce for Textile Import and Export in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Local Produce and Livestock Products Import and Export Group, Zhejiang Oriental Financial Holding Group, and Zhejiang Textile Import and Export Group. During the discussion and exchange with the leaders of member companies, President Cao said that after three years of epidemic, the current international textile and apparel foreign trade environment has undergone tremendous changes, and it is necessary for industries and companies to resume foreign business exchanges as soon as possible and stabilize the market. The Textile Chamber of Commerce will promptly report the common problems faced by member companies to the Ministry of Commerce and other competent authorities to promote the sustainable development of the textile and apparel foreign trade industry under the new situation.
