Jiangsu: The rate of shutdowns and production restrictions among textile companies in the Yangtze River and coastal areas has increased
Recently, due to an increase in the number of employees unable to work due to infection, the operating rate of small and medium-sized textile and weaving enterprises in the Yangtze River and coastal areas has declined.
The person in charge of a local company said that because most employees are at home, the company’s operating rate is only 60%. In recent years, cotton production has declined in the coastal areas of the Yangtze River, and industries such as textile, printing and dyeing, clothing, home textiles, and textile machinery have shrunk. Afterwards, most of them have gone bankrupt or reorganized. Individual and private enterprises have shrunk in size and are mostly small and medium-sized enterprises with an annual consumption of less than 20,000 to 30,000 spindles and an annual consumption of less than 3,000 tons of lint. In the past two years, due to the epidemic and other impacts, all these workshop-style enterprises with less than 10,000 ingots have been shut down.
The person in charge said that with the adjustment of epidemic prevention policies, some companies plan to resume work and restart operations, but the recent increase in employee infections has had an impact on companies’ resumption of work and expansion of production.
