I feel pretty good living a plain life.”

After tasting the sweetness of planting mulberry and raising sericulture, Li Deyong continued to expand the sericulture area. In 2021, his family raised 38.5 silkworms, sold 2,020.5 kilograms of cocoons, and earned 116,067.73 yuan from selling cocoons; in 2022, 46.5 silkworms were raised. , 2,693.7 kilograms of silkworm cocoons were sold, and the income from the sale of cocoons was 145,994.5.21 yuan. The per capita income from sericulture reached 24,332.4 yuan. Li Deyong told reporters: “My family’s current income from planting mulberry and raising sericulture has nearly tripled compared to previous cultivation. Now the sericulture industry has become my family’s main economic income.”
In recent years, Yongren County has established a cooperative and adopted the “branch + company + cooperative + farmer” development model to transfer land, divide planting, and continuously increase the sericulture planting area; it also carries out sericulture and breeding technology training in various forms , continuously improve the level of silkworm farmers planting mulberry and raising silkworms, and continuously improve the quality of silkworm cocoons. In 2022, Yongren County raised more than 30,000 silkworm seeds, produced more than 1,200 tons of silkworm cocoons, and the output value reached nearly 60 million yuan.
