Promoting simplified cotton cultivation, Anhui held an observation and industrial development seminar
In order to implement the “Two Strengthening and One Growth” action plan, actively promote the simplified and mechanized cotton planting technology in our province, and explore the multi-functional utilization demonstration application of cotton, from September 3rd to 5th, Anhui Province Cotton Lighting The Simplified Cultivation and Ornamental Cotton Demonstration Application Observation and Industrial Development Seminar was held in Anqing City, Anhui Province.
The conference was co-sponsored by the Cotton Research Institute of the Anhui Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Anqing Yingjiang District Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau, and the Anqing Yingjiang District Science and Technology Bureau. More than 40 people including department heads, heads of agricultural authorities and related units in major cotton-growing cities (counties, districts) and technical personnel participated in the observation and discussion.
Representatives attending the conference went to Xinzhou Township, Anqing City, and the Anqing Experimental Base of the Cotton Research Institute of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, where they observed on-site application of simplified cotton and mechanized planting technology, as well as demonstration and application demonstrations of colorful leaf ornamental cotton to construct a cotton field ecological landscape. Under the climate conditions of persistent high temperature and drought this year, cotton in the simplified cultivation technology demonstration area is growing well. There are about 60,000 cotton bolls per mu in the core area, and it is expected to achieve a stable yield of 250 kilograms of seed cotton per mu; using red-leaf cotton to build an ecological landscape of cotton fields The experiment achieved initial success. At the same time, a series of colorful leaf ornamental cotton germplasm resources were collected and innovative, which provided a useful exploration for the application of cotton in leisure and sightseeing agriculture and provided a new way to expand the multi-functional utilization of cotton.
The meeting was chaired by Zhu Jiabao, director of the Cotton Research Institute of the Anhui Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Two experts, including deputy director Xu Daoqing and associate researcher He Tuanjie, respectively gave lectures on “Green, Simple and Efficient Cotton Cultivation Technology” and “Color Leaf Ornamentation” Special report on “Research Work Report on Characteristic Cotton Germplasm Resources”. The participating experts and leaders held discussions on the development direction of Anhui’s cotton industry. They actively made suggestions and put forward many useful suggestions in response to the current status and problems faced by the cotton industry in our province.
In recent years, the cotton planting area in our province has declined, mainly due to the low degree of mechanization of cotton planting and the decline in comparative efficiency. Anhui is a major textile and clothing province, as well as a traditional cotton-growing province. Anhui Province spans the Yangtze River Basin and the Yellow River Basin. In terms of planting patterns, climate and ecological conditions, Anhui Province is a cotton-growing advantageous area. In order to reduce risks in my country’s cotton industry, cotton production in Anhui and other mainland areas needs to be appropriately restored and developed. The fundamental way out to solve the problem of cotton industry shrinkage is to rely on technological innovation to accelerate the promotion and application of green, simple and efficient cotton cultivation technology; with the direction of mechanization of the entire cotton production process, research and development suitable for this industry For agricultural machinery and equipment used in the region, research on agronomic technologies that are compatible with agricultural machinery and supporting them can reduce the cost of cotton production; at the same time, it is necessary to research and develop the multi-functional utilization value of cotton to improve the comprehensive economic benefits of farmers planting cotton.
