Qingdao Municipal Supervisor: Random inspection of 27 batches of children’s clothing products found 7 batches unqualified

On August 17, 2022, the website of Qingdao Municipal Administration for Market Regulation announced the results of the first batch of industrial product quality municipal supervision and spot inspections in 2022. A total of 62 products were subject to supervision and spot inspection this time. Among them, 27 batches of children’s clothing products were randomly inspected, and 7 batches of products did not meet relevant standards.

This random inspection of children’s clothing products is based on GB 31701-2015 “Technical Specifications for Safety of Textile Products for Infants and Children”, GB/T31900-2015 “Woven Children’s Clothing”, GB/T 39508-2020 “Knitted Infants and Children’s Clothing” Clothing”, GB/T 8878-2014 “Cotton Knitted Underwear”, FZ/T73045-2013 “Knitted Children’s Clothing”, GB/T 29862-2013 “Identification of Fiber Content of Textiles”, Q/FLTY 172-2021 “Fashion Clothing” , Q/320500 ADSZ 012-2021 “Children’s Clothing”, Q/320585 NKY 106-2019 “Sports and Leisure Clothing”, Q 330502 HX 001-2020 “Infant and Children’s Clothing” and other standards, regarding fiber content, formaldehyde content, pH value , color fastness to water, color fastness to perspiration (acid and alkali), color fastness to rubbing, decomposable aromatic amine dyes, color fastness to soaping, marking, accessory requirements, and other requirements, etc. 11 items were tested.

A spot check found that 7 batches of products did not meet relevant standard requirements. The unqualified items were: fiber content, rope requirements for accessories, other requirements for metal needles and other sharp objects, and instructions for use.

The Qingdao Municipal Administration for Market Regulation stated that it has started post-processing of substandard products in accordance with the law.
