Recently, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region announced a list of outstanding pilot villages (communities) for rural revitalization reform integration, and Liuna Village, Hongdu Town, Xincheng County, Laibin City, was included in the list. As one of the key villages assisted by the Guangdong-Guangxi collaboration, Maoming City, Guangdong Province has focused on promoting innovation, reform and sustainable development of the silkworm industry in Liuna Village on the basis of helping the village improve its livelihood infrastructure. .
Located in Liuna Village by the Hongshui River, more than 70% of farmers grow mulberry and raise silkworms. In 2019, Maoming City invested 2 million yuan in assistance funds and introduced technical teams from universities and leading enterprises to promote the construction of a standardized silkworm breeding demonstration base in the village, tailor-made a 5G “smart sericulture cloud platform”, and rely on the base and platform to comprehensively An industrial-driven model of “government + enterprises + cooperatives + farmers” was launched to help villagers promptly solve problems such as technology, silkworm breeding, and marketing. After promoting the standardized sericulture model, Liuna Village’s silkworm cocoon production more than doubled. At the same time, the base can provide more than 50 employment positions every year, effectively providing nearby employment for villagers. In 2021, through the radiation of the base, more than 3,000 villagers will benefit, helping the people generate income of about 6 million yuan, and the village collective economy will increase income by 140,000 yuan.
In addition, the Liuna Village Guangdong-Guangxi collaborative standardized silkworm breeding demonstration base also relied on an additional 1.5 million yuan of Guangdong-Guangxi support funds to implement base expansion and the construction of a science popularization and experience point for silkworm breeding. It has also integrated resources from all parties to support the village in building it into a tourist destination integrating tourism, study, silkworm breeding, and farming cultural experience by combining it with local 4A-level tourist attractions, and further creating a model village for livability and industry.
