The dobby device is a form of shuttleless loom shedding mechanism and an important part of the shuttleless loom.
1. The function of the dobby device
The dobby device is one of the five main components of the loom – the shedding device. Its function is to divide the warp (or silk) into upper and lower parts through the heald frame. Layer to form a shed for the weft insertion system of the loom, and then close the shed to interlace the warp and weft yarns, over and over again, to complete the weaving of the cloth.
2. Conditions that should be met
(1) The dobby device itself has no power source, and its power to complete leisure comes from the loom. The transmission method can be transmitted through gears, synchronous toothed belts, etc.
(2) The dobby device should be synchronized with the loom to ensure that the main shaft of the loom drives one revolution, and the dobby drives the heald frame to form a shed to complete one cycle of weaving. Most of the dobby devices currently in use have a double-action structure. When the loom rotates once, the dobby only rotates half a turn to form a shed.
(3) The dobby device should have a signal reading device, that is, through various forms of mechanisms, the arrangement signals that meet the fabric weaving process will be received regularly and transmitted to the dobby actuator, and then drive the heald frame to complete the opening. Commonly used signal reading devices include the following types: perforated paper type, nail pattern plate type, and electronic signal type.
(4) There should be an implementation mechanism for summarization and review. For positive dobby, since the actuator is rigidly connected to the heald frame, the power from the loom is used to drive the heald frame up and down to complete the warp opening and closing. The negative dobby device lifts the heddle by the dobby heddle lifting mechanism through the power from the loom, while the heddle return is completed by a separate heddle return mechanism. The common heddle return mechanism is completed by several sets of springs.
(5) In order to ensure that the dobby device maintains good working conditions and is durable, the dobby device should have lubricating parts so that each working pair of the dobby device can always work smoothly in a lubricated state.
