Japan Teijian develops fire-resistant and heat-resistant fabrics for clothing
Recently, Japan Teijian and Achilles jointly developed “high heat-resistant and fire-resistant sealing cloth”. This product coats the surface of heat-resistant aramid fiber with hollow ceramic balls to improve the heat resistance of the product. The two companies plan to use it as a protective clothing fabric for furnace operations, casting operations and melting operations in blast furnaces, electric furnaces, and glass manufacturing, and will start selling it in late July.
In the past, heat-resistant clothing appeared to be insufficient in heat resistance if it was near a high temperature above 1000°C. In addition, although some fabrics have aluminum alloy processing on the surface, there is still a shortcoming that heat is easily transmitted to the wearer. The high heat-resistant and fire-resistant sealing cloth has improved heat resistance and can also prevent the wearer from being burned by high temperatures.
This product is coated with multiple layers of rubber layers containing hollow ceramic balls on the surface of a gray cloth based on “Teijin Conex”. Hollow ceramic balls not only have excellent heat resistance, but their hollow structure also insulates heat, thus inhibiting heat conduction. In addition, the sealing cloth is coated with an aluminum layer on the outer surface to improve heat reflectivity.
It is reported that the heat resistance of this product is more than 8 times higher than that of previous aluminum billets, and the heat insulation is more than 2 times higher, but the softness is the same as previous products. cMNOv3mG
