Japan develops artificial leather down coat with natural feel
Renown will launch a down coat under the trade name “D’URBAN” using the high-grade artificial leather “Amaretta Z” jointly developed with Kuraray.
“Amaretta Z” has the same three-dimensional structure as natural leather, and special surface processing is performed on a non-woven base fabric using ultra-fine fibers to reproduce the texture of natural leather. Through the shadow rendering of the fabric surface, it gives a natural feeling similar to natural leather.
“Amaretta Z” feels soft, about 30% lighter than natural leather, and has high shape stability.
There are two colors: black and dark brown. The market price is 99,750 yen (tax included). It is sold at 140 department stores in Japan.
