The main drive of the water-jet loom adopts a direct drive system. Belt drive is adopted from the main motor to the main shaft pulley (the armature of the electromagnetic brake is installed on the side of the main shaft and pulley). Before starting the loom, ensure the steering of the motor, the tightness of the belt, and the correct clearance of the brake.
The belt of the motor should not be installed too tight to avoid overloading the motor bearings, but it should not be too loose to avoid slipping. The correct measurement method is: apply 3kg of pressure between the two belt pulleys of each belt, so that there is a 7mm deflection at the pressure point of the belt. The tightness of the belt can be adjusted through the adjusting screw under the motor base.
When the start button is pressed, the electromagnetic brake coil is powered off, ending the braking action. When the loom stops under any circumstances, the brake coil is energized and the brake attracts the brake armature. At the same time, the motor is powered off, causing the loom to quickly stop rotating. Properly adjusting the position signal proximity switch of the loom can make the loom stop at the appropriate position. The longitude and weft stop of the loom usually stops at about 180°. The gap control of electromagnetic brake is very important. This will prevent the loom from failing to start and brake properly, causing defects in the fabric. The gap should be checked every three months, and the size should be within the range of 0.2 to 0.4mm.
