Silk commodity exports doubled
From January to February, my country’s total exports of silk products reached US$560 million, a year-on-year increase of 16%. Among them, silk exports were US$108 million, a year-on-year increase of 22.56%; silk satin exports were US$143 million, a year-on-year increase of 5.09%; silk manufactured exports were US$310 million, a year-on-year increase of 19.48%.
The top five export markets are: the United States (US$90 million, a year-on-year decrease of 8.05%), India (US$54 million, a year-on-year increase of 56.81%), Italy (US$52 million, a year-on-year decrease of 7.8%), and Pakistan (0.42 billion, a year-on-year increase of 19.8%), Japan (38 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 19.43%).
The top five provinces and cities in terms of export volume are: Zhejiang (US$210 million, a year-on-year increase of 3.99%), Guangdong (US$83 million, a year-on-year increase of 64.9%), Jiangsu (US$71 million, a year-on-year increase of 8.37%), Shanghai ( 41 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 7.23%) and Sichuan (39 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 31.8%). Their combined exports accounted for 79.2% of my country’s total silk merchandise exports.
In February, my country’s silk product exports amounted to US$262 million, a year-on-year increase of 102.81%. Among them, silk exports were US$50.6974 million, a year-on-year increase of 101.95%; silk satin exports were US$64.2109 million, a year-on-year increase of 100.38%; silk manufactured exports were US$147 million, a year-on-year increase of 104.4%.
