Baqiao District has a deep connection with the textile industry. During the country’s “First Five-Year Plan” period, the largest cotton textile industrial base in the northwest was built here. Since March 1953, the National Cotton Factory No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 and the Northwest No. 1 Printing and Dyeing Factory have been successively deployed, forming a company with more than 31,000 employees, 370,000 spindles, and 9,170 textile printing and dyeing machines, creating an annual output of nearly 8 With a performance of 10,000 tons of cotton yarn, 300 million meters of raw fabric, and 120 million meters of printed fabric, it has become the largest textile base in the northwest. After the 1990s, textile companies were in trouble.

In 2007, the Xi’an Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government proposed the strategic plan of “comprehensive revitalization of the Textile City area”. Later, under Bailuyuan and on the bank of Bahe River, Xi’an Modern Textile Industrial Park rose from the ground. The park has a planned area of ​​4.7 square kilometers. It is China’s textile industry base, Shaanxi Province’s new industrialized textile industry demonstration base, national textile and garment industry demonstration park, and China’s textile industrytalent construction demonstration cluster . In the park, textile companies such as Xifang Group, Wuhuan Group, Shaanxi Yuanfeng, Jihua 3513, and Shaanxi Jinyi have successively been completed and put into operation, becoming a gathering place for the textile and garment industry in Xi’an.

In order to further optimize the structure of the textile industry and extend the industrial chain. In May 2021, the Textile Industrial Park took the lead in joining forces with the Shaanxi Institute of Textile Science and Xi’an Engineering University, and also absorbed relevant textile and garment companies to jointly form a “New Textile Industry Alliance”. The alliance aims to achieve coordinated development of textile enterprises, collaborative innovation of key technologies, and joint construction and sharing of service systems by accelerating internal exchanges among textile enterprises, building a complete textile industry chain, and promoting highqualitydevelopment.
