Indonesia launches safeguard measures investigation on imported yarn
On September 20, 2019, the WTO Safeguards Committee released the notification on the filing of safeguard measures submitted to it by the Indonesian delegation. On September 18, 2019, at the request of the Indonesian Textile Association, the Indonesian Safeguards Measures Committee launched a safeguard measure investigation into imported synthetic fiber yarns and man-made staple fiber yarns (except sewing threads) (Yarn (other than Sewing Thread) of Synthethic and Artificial Staple Fibres). The Indonesian tax numbers of the products involved are 5509.22.00, 5509.32.00, 5509.51.00, 5509.53.00, 5510.12.00, and 5510.90.00.
Stakeholders should register their responses in paper and electronic forms within 15 days from the date of filing the case. The hearing is scheduled to be held at 10-12 am on September 30, 2019. Stakeholders participating in the hearing should submit relevant evidence documents before September 26, 2019.
