In August 2016, Vietnam exported US$2.475 billion in textiles and clothing, a year-on-year increase of 8.01%, and a month-on-month increase of 6.74%; Vietnam exported 113,600 tons of yarn, a year-on-year increase of 37.30%, and a month-on-month increase of 9.45%. From January to August 2016, Vietnam’s cumulative exports of textiles and clothing were US$15.669 billion, a year-on-year increase of 4.10%; its cumulative exports of yarn were 756,300 tons, a year-on-year increase of 18.03%.
In August 2016, Vietnam imported 81,200 tons of yarn, a year-on-year increase of 26.18%, and a month-on-month increase of 11.03%; imported cotton was 103,100 tons, a year-on-year increase of 16.88%, and a month-on-month increase of 16.64%; imported fabrics were US$871 million, a year-on-year increase of 12.31% %, a month-on-month decrease of 3.02%. From January to August 2016, Vietnam imported a total of 566,300 tons of yarn, a year-on-year increase of 9.18%; a total of 710,900 tons of cotton, a year-on-year decrease of 0.55%; and a total of US$6.818 billion in fabric imports, a year-on-year increase of 1.96%.
