Muling: “Weaving” a linen textile industry cluster in seven years

Seven years ago, Muleng was non-linen and non-woven, and the textile industry was completely blank.

“When you hear the sound of the machine, the sun rises and the sky spreads.” In the past seven years, Muling’s linen textile industry has attracted a total investment of 1 billion yuan, invested in the construction of 13 linen spinning enterprises, with a production capacity of 63,000 spindles, and its linen spinning share accounts for 10% of the country’s total.

With no raw materials and no market, the Muling linen textile industry with “both ends outside” has accelerated from “zero start”.

At the recent commencement ceremony of key projects in the province, four more linen textile manufacturing projects were unveiled in Muling City.

Over the past seven years, Muling’s linen textile industry has focused on “building circles and strong chains”, starting from the secondary industry and spreading to both the primary and tertiary industries, creating a beautiful picture for the Muling textile industry.

Become the largest market for flax spinning monomers in the country

On the morning of April 17, the breeze was not dry and the sun was just right.

Before visiting the hemp textile enterprise, Sun Tienian took reporters around the hemp textile industrial park. Sun Tienian, the director of the Muling City Project Service Center, is a hero of Muling’s linen spinning industry. He introduced the first linen spinning enterprise in Muling.

Sitting in the car, more than a dozen linen textile companies such as Longmu, Jintai, and Xindongmao passed by in a hurry. The grand corporate logo, neat factory appearance, long fences and towering tower cranes all highlighted the The company’s image and strength are filled with the breath and vitality of the emerging linen textile industry.

But the sound of the spinning machine was heard, but the spinners were nowhere to be seen. In the workshop of Tianheng Linen Textile Co., Ltd., automated spinning equipment has replaced most of the manual labor. The high-speed running of the comb carding machine and the hemp machine make the sound of the machine, inspiring people to work hard.

From the entry of raw materials into the factory to the storage of finished products, general manager Zhao Zhecheng took reporters around in accordance with the process.

Spinning yarn goes through 19 processes, including flaxing, splitting, combing, striping, roving, and winding; weaving requires 8 processes, including warping, weaving, and trimming.

In May 2019, Tianheng Textile with a total investment of 70 million yuan settled in Muling Economic and Technological Development Zone, with a production capacity of 10,000 spindles. Its linen materials come from France, Belgium and Egypt, and more than 95% of the linen yarn and linen cloth produced are exported to Europe. Annual export volume is US$10 million.

Young general manager Zhao Zhecheng is from Jiaxing, Zhejiang. He told reporters that he chose to invest and build a factory in Muling because “the main reason is that the local business environment is good and the investment policies are more favorable.”

Sun Yuling, deputy director of the Development Zone Management Committee, told reporters that among the linen spinning enterprises in the development zone, Tianheng Linen Textile is not the largest, but it is the most representative, with a long industrial chain and the ability to spin and weave.

In just 7 years, Muling has grown to 13 hemp-related enterprises, covering spinning, weaving, planting, processing, hemp materials and other fields, accounting for 20% of the city’s regulated enterprises.

The city’s hemp industry enterprises have completed a total investment of 690 million yuan in fixed assets, with a spinning production capacity of 63,000 spindles, accounting for approximately 10% of the country’s flax spindles, with an annual output of 7,400 tons of various types of yarn and more than 700 linen cloths. Thousands of meters long.

“Muling City has become the largest city for flax spinning monomers in the country.” Sun Yuling said optimistically that after all the above-mentioned enterprises are put into production and achieve results, they can achieve an annual output of more than 9,600 tons of various yarns and an annual output of flax. With a capacity of 10 million extension meters, the annual output value can reach more than 1 billion yuan.

“1 with N” brings out a linen textileindustrial cluster

How did Muleng, who once had zero linen spinning, gather 13 linen spinning companies in a short period of time to form a linen spinning industry cluster?

As a person who has personally experienced investment promotion in the hemp textile industry, Sun Tienian said that in addition to the excellent business environment, it is also inseparable from the “help and guidance” among investors.

During the Spring Festival in 2015, Sun Tienian met Chen Weidong, a businessman from Harbin through friends. This person had deep experience in the domestic “hemp circle” and was looking for an ideal place to invest and establish a hemp spinning enterprise in the province.

This matter has attracted great attention from the Muling Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government. For this topic-breaking and original industry, the city expressed its bold introduction and full support.

After several rounds of negotiations, Chen Weidong decided to locate the company in Muling and first build a short linen yarn production line with an annual output of 5,000 spindles. Sun Tienian was also identified by the city as the “contractor” cadre of the project.

In July 2015, Muling Longmu Yapin Linen Textile Co., Ltd. started construction in the development zone with a fixed asset investment of 52.5 million yuan. This is the first linen textile enterprise in Muling.

Since Longmu Linen Spinning reached production, the short linen yarn market has been promising, with supply exceeding demand, and the highest price selling for 63,000 yuan per ton. In 2021, sales revenue of 40 million yuan will be achieved, and the company will achieve financial freedom. Chen Weidong’s investment has paid off.

The second company to enter Muling is Yew Linen Textile Co., Ltd. This company is from Inner Mongolia and was recommended by Chen Weidong.

In September 2016, the construction of Yew Linen Spinning with an investment of 83.32 million yuan and a production capacity of 15,000 spindles started. It was put into operation in May 2019. It was fully put into production with an annual output of 2,000 tons of flax yarn and an annual output value of 120 million yuan.

The third company to enter Muling is Xinling Linen Textile Co., Ltd., which is from Shanghai.

In 2017, Chen WeixiHe recommended his long-term trading partner Liang Zhijian from Shanghai to Muling.

In June 2018, Xinling Linen Textile Co., Ltd., with an investment of 81.2 million yuan and a production capacity of 17,000 spindles, was put into operation. Once fully put into production and effective, the annual output of linen yarn will be 2,000 tons, with an output value of 210 million yuan.

With Chen Weidong and Liang Zhijian and other heavyweights from the “hemp circle” standing on the stage, the Muling Municipal Government seizes the opportunity to carry out various forms of networking activities and sincerely invites domestic “hemp circle” people to visit, negotiate, invest and start business in Muling.

The fourth house, the fifth house…

At present, there are 13 hemp-related companies that have been put into operation in Muling Development Zone. By the end of this year, there will be 4 new linen companies settled in Muling, one integrating spinning, weaving, processing, and planting. The linen textile industry cluster has initially taken shape in Muling City.

“Building circles and strong links” to create a new linen textile city

One passes one to another, one helps one, and one leads one. “Every linen textile enterprise that settles in Muling has an unusual story. When one story is strung together, it is a guide to attracting investment in linen textiles.” Sun Tienian said that businessmen are hard-working and hard-working, and the government is sincere in dealing with business, which has made Muling a brand new business. The linen textile industry has also become a good story about “attracting investment through business” in the industry and local people.

One characteristic of Muling’s linen spinning industry is that “both ends are outside”. Most of the raw materials come from abroad and the products are sold at home and abroad. Another characteristic is that the investment projects are interconnected, and people from all over the country gather in Muling. A new “hemp circle” was formed.

With the growth of “hemp circle”, Muleng’s linen textile industry has spread, spread and developed from a single secondary industry at the beginning to primary and tertiary industries, and the industrial chain has been continuously supplemented, extended and strengthened.

Muling Hongsong Hemp Technology Co., Ltd. from Changzhou, Jiangsu is a comprehensive hemp-related enterprise. It has established four hemp planting bases, hemp threshing factories, hemp wet spinning factories and R&D bases in Muling. sector, the total project investment is 80 million yuan, and the annual output value can be 300 million yuan.

The settlement of the Hongsong hemp project has achieved a breakthrough in Muling City’s hemp industry from secondary production to primary production, ended Muling’s history of not growing hemp, and promoted the adjustment of the agricultural planting structure.

In August 2022, Muleng Hemp Spinning made new breakthroughs in “building circles and strong chains”. Zhejiang Xindongmao Group, a leading domestic spinning enterprise, established Heilongjiang Xindongmao Textile Technology Co., Ltd. in Muling Development Zone to build a linen textile industrial park. With an investment of 600 million yuan and a production capacity of 25,000 spindles, the production project of a full range of linen textiles including pure linen, hemp, interwoven and blended fabrics has been completed and can be put into production by the end of this year. This project is currently the largest production scale and the first digital hemp spinning enterprise in northern my country.

According to the industrial development plan, in the next step, Muling plans to introduce end product companies, create its own brands, and develop in areas such as fabrics and clothing, knitting, home textiles, linseed oil processing, and linseed health products. Achieving annual sales revenue of 2 billion yuan and taxes of 95 million yuan, the park will be built into “China’s Emerging Linen Textile City” integrating planting, processing, production, trading, research and development, and training.

At a high-end meeting of the national textile industry held not long ago, Muling Mayor Zhang Haifeng said that it plans to use five years to promote “whole industry chain linen spinning”, “innovation-driven linen spinning”, “digital intelligent linen spinning” and “green cycle”. The “Four Linen Textile” construction of “Four Linen Textile” will make every effort to build a national-level linen textile industry demonstration base.
