Gaoping is rich in sericulture. In 1912, the democratic revolutionary Zhang Lan founded the Liuhe Silk Factory in Gaoping. Over the next hundred years, the factory won the gold medal at the Panama Pacific International Exposition. It was once the largest silk reeling enterprise in Asia and opened the way for Sichuan silk to go global. In 2021, Liuhe Silk Factory will be selected as a national industrial heritage; in 2022, the opening ceremony of the Sichuan International Culture and Tourism Festival will be held at Liuhe Silk Factory. Liuhe Silk Factory is also the only silk reeling and weaving factory in the west that is intact, large-scale and still in production today.
How did such a “treasure scenic spot” attract the attention of the CCTV program team?
Tian Jingyuan, director of the project team of China Central Radio and Television Station’s “Chinese Calligraphy Conference”, said that among the famous calligraphy monuments and calligraphy of the past dynasties involved in the program, “Shu Su Tie” is a very special one because it was written by the famous calligrapher Mi Fu of the Northern Song Dynasty.
