Dali Xiangyun: The sericulture industry “weaves” a road to rural revitalization and prosperity
In recent years, Xiangyun County has adjusted its industrial structure according to local conditions. Through the form of “company + village cooperative + farmer”, it has continuously enhanced the enthusiasm of sericulture farmers in planting mulberry and raising sericulture, making the sericulture industry a leading industry for farmers to increase their income and become rich, helping Rural revitalization.
Xiong Wanlin, a villager from Group 3 of Zongpeng Community, started planting mulberry and raising silkworms in 1999 and embarked on the road to wealth. This year, his family has bred 7 more spring silkworms, and Lao Xiong is full of confidence. He said: “Last year, the rain was good, and the price of silkworm cocoons was more than 52 yuan per kilogram. The price was stable, and the income was more than 210,000 yuan. I believe we can sell it at a good price this year.”
Zongpeng community has more than 2,000 acres of mulberry gardens, with an income of more than 6 million yuan in 2022. Based on the total population of the village of more than 3,300 people, and only sericulture, the per capita income reaches more than 1,800 yuan, achieving a stable income. Coupled with the fact that they go out to work and do business, the life of the villagers is getting better and better.
The sericulture industry in Yi Town, Yunnan was cultivated in 2002 by seizing the opportunity of the country’s “Eastern Mulberry Migration to the West”. The town has a mulberry garden area of more than 20,000 acres. In 2022, the town’s silkworm cocoon income will be more than 61 million yuan. The area of mulberry gardens in Peng, Guocheng, Jiaoqi and other villages is more than 2,000 acres, and there are many contiguous mulberry gardens of several hundred acres. Under the careful guidance of agricultural science personnel in counties, towns and villages, the model of “company + village cooperative + farmer” is adopted to provide scientific and technological services at all levels and provide one-stop services before, during and after production, achieving good sericulture, If silkworms are raised well and cocoons are sold well, the sericulture industry will truly become a leading industry for rural revitalization and a green bank for farmers to steadily increase their income.
Xiangyun County has successfully tested and promoted the mulberry orchard mulching film covering cultivation technology, improved mulberry seedling transplanting, small silkworm co-breeding technology, and large silkworm labor-saving simple silkworm breeding technology, saving farmers nearly 200 million yuan in cost savings and efficiency. , which not only provides scientific and technological support for improving the efficiency of the sericulture industry, but also reduces labor intensity. Xiong Wanlin, a villager in Group 3 of Zongpeng Community, said happily: “It used to be very hard to raise silkworms on those silkworm winnowing racks, which had to be lifted up and down. Now they are raised on a platform, which makes feeding easier and less tiring.”
At present, Xiangyun has cultivated nearly 100,000 acres of mulberry gardens, with nearly 20,000 mulberry farmers and about 100,000 employees. The production of mulberry, silkworms, cocoons and silk has begun to take shape. In a normal year, the amount of silkworms raised, the amount of cocoons produced, and farmers’ income from selling fresh cocoons rank second in Yunnan Province and first in Dali Prefecture.
