He said that in terms of geotechnical materials, China is a major producer of polyester, and polyester products will still be the mainstream of the geotechnical materials market in the future. Among them, filament polyester geotextile currently accounts for a low proportion of applications and has a growth trend. Secondly, polypropylene geotextile has better resistance to chemical attack. China currently has a certain production capacity, but there is still a lot of room for growth. Third, in order to meet engineering needs, geotechnical materials are developing in the direction of geotextiles and geogridcomposite materials. Fourth, polyester high-strength two-component geotextile has good tensile and tear resistance, air permeability and water permeability, and is widely used in soft base treatment drainage board membranes; in terms of building materials , polyester filament waterproof tire base fabric is an important construction textile, with huge domestic production and usage. Among them, glass fiber reinforced polyester filament composite tire base fabric further enhances product performance and is more widely used. In December 2018, the association was approved to become the domestic technical counterpart unit of the International Organization for Standardization Geosynthetic Materials Technical Committee (ISO/TC 221), and has established a network covering key production enterprises, application enterprises, testing and certification institutions, research institutes and universities in the industry. The domestic technical counterpart working group hosted the 16th plenary session of ISO/TC 221 and various working group meetings in 2019. Currently, 12 domestic experts have been recommended as ISO/TC 221 registered experts to participate in the specific work of each working group, and On behalf of China, vote on the ISO/TC 221 standards and resolutions under development or propose revisions.
