Dongtai City holds 2023 spring silkworm production technology training class
In order to further improve the business level of sericulture service personnel in Dongtai City, Jiangsu Province, improve the skills of sericulture farmers in planting mulberry and raising sericulture, and stabilize the sericulture industry. From April 20th to 22nd, the Dongtai Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs held a 2023 spring silkworm production technology training class, with sericulture production service personnel from all towns and districts in the city, representatives of large sericulture households, heads of sericulture family farms, Minxing, Fuan CocoonSilk Company participated in the training.
In this training class, Teacher Ling Yiyang, a member of the Municipal Party Committee, was invited to give a special lecture on the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Professor Li Bing, a post scientist in the national sericulture industry technology system and director of the Sericulture Research Institute of Suzhou University, and a post scientist in the national sericulture industry technology system, Professor Shao Yongqi of Zhejiang University and researcher Xu Gang, director of the Office of Jiangsu Sericulture Research Institute, respectively gave speeches on “Application status of new technologies for large-scale sericulture in my country”, “Sericulture and disease prevention technology”, “Sericulture Industry HighThoughts on QualityDevelopment” special report. The Municipal Sericulture Technology Guidance and Management Center focuses on “prominent virus prevention and security, strict disinfection and disease prevention, and strives to achieve a bumper harvest of spring silkworms”, “mulberry orchard interplanting and comprehensive utilization of by-products technology”, “innovation and excellence, striving for progress in stability, and fully promoting the sericulture “High Quality Development” training.
Dongtai City plans to release spring silkworm seeds at the end of April, start raising silkworms in early May, and put cocoons on the market at the end of May. It is expected that 75,000 silkworm seeds will be distributed, continuing to rank first in the province. Due to sufficient rainfall this year, there are fewer mulberry tree diseases and insect pests, and the mulberry trees are growing well. Silkworm farmers are highly confident of a bumper harvest of spring silkworms.
