Wang Decai told reporters that as long as there are no problems with water and fertilizer, the general growth cycle of cotton is about 130 days. Taking into account comprehensive factors such as weather and temperature differences, cotton must be sown before the end of April every year. “My life has improved a lot over the past few years since I planted cotton. I started sowing on dozens of acres and now I have 1,000 acres this year.” said Wang Decai, a major cotton grower in Erbao Town, Yizhou District.

It is understood that among the 324,900 acres of crops currently sown in Hami City, there are 119,700 acres of spring wheat, 167,000 acres of cotton, 15,500 acres of watermelon, 17,400 acres of cantaloupe, 1,000 acres of grain corn, and 0.13 acres of Chinese herbal medicine. Ten thousand acres, including 1,700 acres of vegetables, 0,600 acres of potatoes, and 0,700 acres of other crops.
