Wuxi County’s 2023 sericulture technology training and 2021 sericulture major commendation conference was held
On April 17, the 2023 Sericulture Technology Training and the 2021 Large Sericulture Farmers Commendation Conference in Wuxi County, Chongqing City were held at the County Non-Public Party and Mass Service Center.
At the training meeting, the main person in charge of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee of the County CPPCC gave a brief introduction to the current status of silkworm breeding in Wuxi County and the economic benefits brought by planting mulberry and raising silkworms. Zhao Aichun and Pan Minhui, experts in mulberry breeding from Southwest University, gave lectures on scientific and efficient field management technology, mulberry pests and diseases and their prevention and control, silkworm house layout and supporting facilities, standardized management of mulberry gardens, disinfection and disease prevention of silkworms, and simplified rearing.
It is understood that the county currently has 10 intelligent sericulture production lines, covering 3 key sericulture towns and 4 key villages, involving more than 400 farmers. This year, it is planned to distribute 20,000 silkworm seeds and produce 800,000 kilograms (16,000 tons) of silkworm cocoons. The revenue from silkworm cocoons is expected to reach 40 million yuan. This training session aims to solve the doubts of the majority of mulberry farmers at various breeding stages, cultivate a group of high-quality teams that are practical, capable and courageous in the mulberry industry, improve the planting and breeding technology and management experience of the farmers, and increase the number of farmers. Increase the income of sericulture farmers and promote the efficient, precise and innovative development of the sericulture industry in the county.
At the meeting, the list of outstanding large sericulture farmers in 2021 was also read out, and awards were presented to the commended representatives.
