On April 14, in Jinhuyang Village, Washixia Town, Ruoqiang County, planters shuttled back and forth in the fields, sowing, laying drip irrigation belts, and covering films in one go. Cotton was sown at full capacity to ensure “one Sow all the seedlings.”
“This year I planted more than 18,000 acres of cotton. Mechanized planting saves time and labor. Four seeders work at the same time. Each seeder can sow 110 acres of land every day. There is no need to worry about delaying the farming season. It is understood that Ruoqiang County has special geographical location and climatic conditions, long sunlight hours, and large temperature differences between day and night, which are helpful for photosynthesis of plants and are very suitable for cotton growth. At the same time, mechanized production runs through the entire process of cotton production. After the cotton emerges, drones will be used to spray foliar fertilizers and pest control drugs. When the cotton matures, large cotton pickers will be used to harvest it.
Pang Mingwei, deputy director of the Agricultural Development Service Center of Washixia Town, Qiang County, said: “Washixia Town started planting cotton at the end of March this year. It is expected that cotton planting this year will be around 50,000 acres. So far, 23,000 acres have been sown, and it is expected that 4 The work will be fully completed by the end of the month.
