Spring Fabric Exhibition Research Report: Filament Weaving Enterprises Green Innovation, Differentiation and Extended Industrial Chain

From March 28 to 30, 2023, the China International Textile Fabrics and Accessories (Spring and Summer) Expo (hereinafter referred to as the “Fabric Expo”) was held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai). The China Filament Weaving Association sent personnel to the exhibition for investigation. The research team focused on visiting Taihua, Hengli, Xiangxing, Silke, Sanfeng, Dongyi, Jujie, Huamao, Xiangti, Lantian, and Zhengkai More than 20 key member companies and upstream and downstream industry supporting companies, including more than 20 key member companies, focused on understanding the industry characteristics, advantageous products and product development.

1. Five exhibitions are linked together to recreate the industrial ecosystem

This fabrics exhibition is the same as the China International Clothing and Accessories Expo (Spring), China International Home Textiles and Accessories (Spring and Summer) Expo, China International Textile Yarn (Spring and Summer) Expo, and China International Knitting (Spring and Summer) Expo. Jointly held at the same time. This year’s Fabric Exhibition has 6 major exhibition halls, 13 professional exhibition areas, and 39 subcategories. Nearly 3,000 high-quality fabric accessories suppliers from 22 countries and regions around the world will be present. Thousands of new products, new technologies, and new applications are gathered here. This exhibition builds a bridge between the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain by creating an integrated ecosystem of parallel exhibitors. Promote industrial collaboration, provide a high-quality platform for exchanges and mutual promotion between all ends of the industry, accelerate the cycle of production, circulation, distribution, and consumption, and inject more active market momentum into the gradually recovering textile enterprises. At the same time, activities such as the release of China’s fiberfashion trends, the release of China’s yarn fashion trends, corporate new product launches, textile material innovation forums, live broadcasts and high-end interviews were also held.

During the exhibition, the exhibition hall was crowded with people and the event was unprecedented. The exhibitors’ booths were crowded, and domestic and foreign professional visitors, purchasers and terminal brands showed high enthusiasm.

2. Focusing on the filament weaving industry, the company once again shows its new style

(1) The raw materials are rich and colorful, laying a solid foundation for the research and development of filament weaving products

Chemical fiber filament fabrics use chemical fiber filaments as the main raw material, which makes this type of fabric have many advantages of chemical fibers. In addition to chemical fiber filaments, various types of chemical fiber yarns (threads), natural yarns (threads), etc. can be the raw materials for chemical fiber filament fabrics. The abundant supply of raw materials has laid a solid foundation for the development of chemical fiber filament fabrics.

 1. Green raw materials

Green is a highlight of this exhibition, and it is also well reflected in raw materials. Mainly represented by the following products:

 (1) Regenerated raw materials

Recycled polyester: The physical method of regenerating polyester mainly uses waste bottles as raw materials. After washing, screening and shredding, it is made into recycled polyester chips and then melted and spun. , becomes recycled polyester filament for use in various fields. Jiangsu Zhongyuan, Fujian Sailong, Zhejiang Haili, Hangzhou Benma and other companies participating in the exhibition are all companies focusing on the production of recycled polyester yarns. Industrial chemical fiber giants such as Hengli and Shenghong are also actively investing in this type of products. production and strive for the green development of the industry. Chemically recycled polyester is made from waste textiles through crushing, storage tanks, depolymerization, filtration separation, transesterification, DMT purification, distillation, DMT storage, polymerization, Slicing, spinning and other processes are used to make the silk required for weaving. Its representative company Zhejiang Jiaren also participated in the exhibition and exhibited its three major categories of products: recycled DMT, recycled polyester chips, and recycled fiber. Recycled nylon: Recycled nylon represented by Jiahua is made from waste fishing nets, waste silk, waste cloth, etc., which are selected, sorted, sorted, chopped, and scientifically processed The processing method produces masterbatch, which is then spun to form the raw materials required for weaving.

 (2)Bio-based and degradable raw materials

At the exhibition, bio-based nylon (PA56) became a hot nylon product. PA56 is polypentamethylene adipate polymerized from bio-based pentanediamine and petroleum-based adipic acid. Its bio-based content is about 45 %, reducing the consumption of non-renewable resources. Through research, we found that the PA56 used by most companies comes from Shanghai Kaisa, Hangzhou Yipin and other companies. During the visit, some companies said that 100% bio-based nylon PA510 has also been widely used. After research, it was learned that PA510 is polymerized from bio-based pentamethylene diamine and sebacic acid, and sebacic acid is produced from castor oil. dicarboxylic acid, so PA510 is 100% bio-based material.

The degradability of synthetic fibers has always been the focus of green development in the industry. In this exhibition, the concept of degradability is also present throughout. During the survey, polylactic acid (PLA) degradable fiber appeared most frequently. PLA is made from corn, potato and other starch-containing organisms or straw cellulose as raw materials, and is polymerized to produce high-purity single-molecule polylactic acid through lactic acid bacteria fermentation. (The specific process is: grain, starch, lignocellulose, etc. are used as raw materials to produce sugar – sugar is used as raw material to ferment lactic acid and cultivate lactic acid bacteria – lactic acid is dehydrated to synthesize lactide – lactide synthesizes polylactic acid) Polylactic acid fiber is polylactic acid through melt spinning Produced by silk and other processing techniques. Polylactic acid fiber has a weak acidity close to that of the human body. It is naturally skin-friendly, antibacterial, and anti-mite. It has good drapability, moisture conductivity, and breathability. It is rich inQuickly and intuitively feel the effect of a fabric made into various garments.

To this end, the association’s research team visited the company. The person in charge said that Style3D is the world’s first 3D digital service platform for the fashion industry chain, providing a one-stop solution of “fabric scanning + fabric measurement + 3D digital software + collaborative management”. The 3D video catwalk service saves long-term costs and enhances brand value. .

Chemical fiber filament fabrics are rich in categories and updated rapidly. Whether Lingdi’s technology can more effectively help the industry needs further discussion and research.

3. Overview of the current status of the exhibition and a brief analysis of the future direction of the industry

The huge crowds at the exhibition are not only the signing of orders and the conclusion of contracts that can be seen before the eyes, but also reflect the recovery of the market and the restoration of consumer confidence after the epidemic. Through this exhibition, many companies have regained their pre-epidemic energy and are full of hope for their development.

Of course, while exhibitions bring confidence to companies, they also make them think deeply. Some companies said that it is precisely because the entire market is very uncertain that they come to participate in the exhibition, visit the exhibition, and find direction. Most companies involved in foreign trade say that the global economy is sluggish, consumption power is insufficient, the United States is taking the lead in hard decoupling from China, the irreversible impact of the epidemic, and the development of the filament weaving industry in Southeast Asia and other countries have led to the current slump in foreign trade. Although some companies have not been greatly affected by foreign trade due to their product advantages and have even grown against the trend, they are also worried about the uncertainty of the future.

Based on exhibition research and post-exhibition follow-up, many companies expressed a deep understanding of the accuracy and necessity of the central positioning of developing “specialized, specialized, innovative” products. They unanimously believed that in order for enterprises to develop in the long term in the future, they must work hard on products. Products must not only achieve quality, but also be differentiated, functional and green. , that is, to be specialized, to be precise, to be special, and to be new. Only in this way can we achieve optimal supply internally in the future trend of consumption upgrading, and externally can we maintain the international competitiveness of Chinese enterprises.
