Why do infectious isolation wards use Teflon air filter membranes?
The infectious isolation ward adopts physical isolation measures, appropriate air flow organization and ventilation and air-conditioning technology to prevent the spread of pathogenic microorganisms in the air and protect medical staff and patients in other areas from threats from contaminated air.
This puts forward multiple requirements for the purification and air-conditioning system of the entire isolation ward. The Teflon air filtration membrane made of mechanically stretched PTFE material can ensure the complete interception of impurities such as bacteria and has a large flux.
The material is resistant to high temperatures, strong acids and alkali, and has wide chemical applicability. When used for gas filtration, it can achieve 100% retention of various phages, bacteria and particles above 0.02um.
