At the release event, the first domestic sustainable cotton production certification certificates were officially issued to China Cotton Group Xinjiang Cotton Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Lihua (Group) Co., Ltd., Hubei Yinfeng Cotton Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Guoxin Zhong Industry Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Cathay Cotton Industry Co., Ltd. and Xinjiang Jiashenghua Cotton Industry Co., Ltd. In 2022, CCSD entrusted Beijing Zhongjinnuo Certification Center and SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services Co., Ltd. to complete online and offline production audit certification of more than 1.2 million acres of cotton fields based on the “China Cotton” Sustainable Production group standard issued by the China Cotton Association. The review mainly covers four aspects: sustainable production, resource and environmental protection, quality and traceability, occupational health, safety and welfare, and social responsibility. A total of about 170,000 tons of sustainable cotton were generated.
The China Cotton Sustainable Development Project Management Committee (CCSD Committee) was officially announced at the event to gather the joint efforts of all parties and jointly manage the project. At the end of the event, the visual image of CCSD was officially released. The graphic part is a green vertical seal printed with black and white cotton peach ink drawings; the text part is composed of “Sustainable Cotton” in Chinese handwritten official script and “CCSDCOTTON” in English.
