Why is ptfe mask film better than traditional masks?

The protective function of film masks is very strong, far better than ordinary masks.

Answer this question from two perspectives.

First of all, membrane masks have better filtration effect. This is mainly because membrane masks use PTFE mask membrane as the filter material. The fiber diameter of this material is very small (generally between a few hundred nanometers), which is much smaller than particulate matter in the air such as PM2. 5 (2500 nanometers), so it can be isolated very efficiently.

General masks are made of non-woven materials. The fiber diameter of the filter material is very large (between 1000 nanometers and 5000 nanometers), and the protective effect is definitely not as good as that of PTFE mask membrane. Secondly, PTFE mask membrane utilizes its fiber diameter. The small advantage is that it uses physical principles to isolate air particles, and its protective effect is more stable and lasting.

In order to improve the filtration effect, general masks rely on the electrostatic effect to adsorb particulate matter. However, the electrostatic effect is easily ineffective due to changes in water vapor temperature and other conditions in the air, so the effective protection time is also short.
