Liangshan Prefecture Silkworm Disease Detection and Prevention Technology Training Conference was held in Xichang
On March 3, a training meeting on silkworm disease detection and prevention and control technology in Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province was held in Xichang. Relevant leaders and experts from the Sichuan Sericulture Management Station, Southwest University, Sericulture Institute of the Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, State Key Laboratory of Silkworm Genome Biology, Sichuan Sericulture Society, Sichuan Sericulture Innovation Team, and Panzhihua City were invited to attend the meeting. Liangshan Prefecture Sericulture Industry Development Center, Liangshan Prefecture Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Liangshan Prefecture Silkworm Breeding Farm, Xichang City Sericulture Breeding Farm, Ningnan, Huidong, Dechang, Mianning, Puge, and Huili County Sericulture Management Departments More than 70 people attended the meeting, including leaders in charge of cocoon and silk enterprises, directors of sericulture departments, and relevant professional and technical personnel. The meeting was chaired by Wang Qiming, director of the Sericulture Industry Development Center.
Wang Qiming extended a warm welcome to the arrival of the expert team. Wang Qiming pointed out that the training meeting on silkworm disease detection and prevention and control technology was held at a time when spring plowing is preparing for production and spring silkworm production is about to kick off across the state. The arrival of the expert team will provide comrades on the front lines of Liangshan’s sericulture production, management, and scientific research. It is of great significance to understand the importance of predictive detection of silkworm disease pathogens, learn and master the healthy breeding technology of silkworms, and promote the healthy and orderly development of Liangshan’s sericulture industry.
Assistant researcher Wang Linlu from the Sericulture Institute of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences selected 3 topics from “Principles of Environmental Pathogen Detection of Bombyx Silkworms”, “Monitoring Point Selection” and “Sample CollectionQualityControl Standards” On the other hand, “Bombyx Silkworm Environmental Pathogen Monitoring Technology and Sampling Specifications” was taught on-site.
Researcher Qing Xuegang, director of the Silkworm Disease Prevention and Control and Healthy Breeding Research Center of the Sericulture Institute of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences and a position expert of the Provincial Sericulture Innovation Team, conducted training on “Healthy Silkworm Breeding Technology” and gave a special lecture on the background and infrastructure of healthy breeding technology Construction, technological research progress, future development directions, and requirements for monitoring network construction planning and detection technology demonstration and promotion.
Professor Pan Minhui, a staff scientist in the Sericulture Innovation Team of the National Industrial Technology System and a doctoral supervisor at Southwest University, gave a technical training entitled “Silkworm Disease Monitoring Technology and Prevention and Control”, focusing on the current status of silkworm pathogen monitoring technology, classification of common silkworm diseases, and Integrated application of inspection and microscopy diagnostic methods for common pathogenic microorganisms and comprehensive silkworm disease prevention and control technology.
Wu Gang, a first-level researcher at the Provincial Sericulture Management Station, put forward three requirements for the development of Liangshan’s sericulture under the new situation. First, we must have a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by the high-quality development of China’s traditional advantageous industries in the context of domestic and international dual cycles and China’s geopolitical conflicts. The second is to deeply grasp the needs of rural revitalization, the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and the ecological construction barrier in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River, and strive for more policies in Liangshan to support the development of sericulture. The third is to proactively connect with national strategies such as national food security, grain-economic integration, and planting and breeding cycles, and combine it with the comprehensive utilization and development of sericulture resources to achieve sustained, stable and high-quality development of Liangshan’s sericulture industry.
Wang Qiming, director of the Prefecture Sericulture Industry Development Center, emphasized that participating counties, cities and departments must attach great importance to silkworm disease detection and prevention, carefully digest and absorb the content of this training, apply what they have learned, and apply the training results to various regions and regions this year. In the work of the department, innovative thinking is used to promote the high-quality development of Liangshan’s sericulture industry, and advanced technology is used to polish the three business cards of Liangshan Sericulture’s high-quality silkworm seeds, high-quality cocoon silk, and high-quality mulberries, and transform new technologies and new processes into multi-sericulture in spring. , produce more cocoons and help increase income.
Through special training and interactive exchanges, the participants gained a better understanding of silkworm disease monitoring and healthy silkworm breeding, and strengthened their confidence and determination to develop the sericulture industry and help silkworm farmers increase their income.
