On March 20, Li Biao, director of the Sericulture Technology Promotion Station of the Guangxi Autonomous Region, and his delegation went to Shanglin County to carry out research and guidance on sericulture production. Ou Guilan, member of the party group and chief agronomist of the Nanning Agricultural and Rural Affairs Bureau, Shanglin County Party Committee Liao Lieyong, member of the Standing Committee, Minister of the United Front Work Department, Deputy County Mayor of Shanglin County People’s Government, and Wei Jiajia, leader of the Shanglin County Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau, accompanied the investigation.

The research team conducted on-site inspections and guidance on the mulberry edible fungus production workshop of Shanglin County Zhongxing Silk Industry Co., Ltd. and the supporting industries of Tanghong Township Poverty Alleviation Resettlement Site, Shanglin County Jiaduofu Ecological Agriculture Co., Ltd., to understand the production process of the enterprise They also heard about the problems and difficulties encountered in Shanglin County’s sericulture development in 2022 and the sericulture development plan in 2023.

Li Biao expressed his affirmation of Shanglin County’s solid advancement of sericulture production. He emphasized that Shanglin County should make full use of the favorable conditions for cocoon acquisition in the first half of the year to promote high-quality development of the sericulture industry. First, we must not relax production in the sericulture industry, focus on transforming low-yield mulberry orchards, introduce excellent silkworm varieties, and increase the yield and quality of silkworm cocoons. The second is to expand the scale of mulberry edible fungus planting, expand sales channels, explore a mechanism for linking farmers with farmers, and drive the surrounding people to increase their income and become rich. The third is to develop and utilize sericulture by-product resources to develop mulberry wine, mulberry leaf tea, silk quilts and other products, extend the sericulture industry chain, and improve the comprehensive economic benefits of the sericulture industry.
