The customs office urged the company to destroy 53 pairs of unqualified pants in accordance with the law.

It is understood that when customs inspects clothing, it focuses on formaldehyde content, pH value, color fastness, odor, decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes and other items. Since the beginning of this year, Beijing Customs has detected 4 batches of unqualified imported clothing, including pants, pajamas and underwear, totaling 102 pieces. The main reasons include unqualified decomposable and carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes, unqualified fiber content, unqualified instructions for use, etc. , does not comply with the “ImportExport Commodity Inspection Law of the People’s Republic of China” and its implementation regulations and the relevant provisions of GB 18401-2010 “National Basic Safety Technical Specifications for Textile Products”.

The relevant person in charge of Beijing Customs stated that the customs will, as always, strictly control the quality safety of imported clothing to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese consumers. Qingdao Customs

In the year since March last year, Qingdao Customs has intercepted 57 batches of substandard imported clothing products at the port, totaling about 15,000 pieces. The unqualified items mainly include color fastness, PH value, formaldehyde, azo dyes and other safety items. Among them, 42 batches failed in color fastness, 6 batches failed in PH value, 6 batches exceeded the standard for formaldehyde, 2 batches exceeded the standard for decomposable and carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes, and 1 batch failed in fiber content.

Zhao Xiaoming, a senior engineer at the Qingdao Customs Commodity Inspection Department, introduced that items such as color fastness, PH value, formaldehyde, and decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes are the main indicators for measuring the safety performance of clothing, and my country’s national mandatory standards have clear regulations on them. , products exceeding the requirements are not allowed to enter the domestic market. Qingdao Customs has destroyed and returned the above-mentioned intercepted unqualified products.

Among the unqualified clothing detected, batches with unqualified color fastness accounted for 73.68% of all unqualified batches, the largest number. According to Zheng Lisa, director of the Consumer Goods Testing Laboratory of Qingdao Customs Technology Center, color fastness refers to the ability of dyed fabrics to withstand external factors (squeezing, friction, washing, rain, exposure, light, saliva immersion, water stains, etc.) during use or processing. For consumers, clothing with substandard color fastness can easily cause dyes to transfer from textiles to human skin through sweat, friction, etc. when worn. Formaldehyde and unqualified pH values may directly irritate the skin and cause allergies. The customs reminds that enterprises are the first person responsible for the quality and safety of imported products. If the products are not inspected and tested before importing, it is very likely that they will not meet the requirements of my country’s mandatory standards.
