Sericulture scientists went to Fuyang City, Anhui Province to provide technical guidance on “spring plowing”
Recently, researcher Zhao Weiguo, the national sericulture industry technology system scientist, and team member associate researcher Li Gang, deputy director of the Sericulture Research Institute of the Anhui Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and researcher Wang Taichu, chief expert of the Anhui Province’s characteristic agricultural industry technology system, conducted the Hefei Comprehensive Experiment Dr. Zhou Rong, a member of the station team, accompanied by local government departments, went to Fuyang City, Anhui Province to conduct investigation and collection of rare ancient mulberry germplasm resources and “spring plowing” production technology guidance.
Mulberry germplasm resources are an important material basis for the breeding of new mulberry varieties. They are also important materials for biological research and are the “chips” of the mulberry seed industry. Carrying out a census and investigation of wild ancient mulberry resources is of great value for studying the origin and evolution history of mulberry trees. The team went to Yingdong District, Taihe County, Funan County and other places in Fuyang City to conduct detailed mapping, investigation and collection of ancient mulberry germplasm resources in the area that are more than 100 years old. They collected 7 ancient mulberry tree resources and recorded them in detail. Collect resource-related information and propose targeted protection measures for ancient mulberry resources. This survey will contribute to the protection, utilization and development of germplasm resources, and is a historical continuation and cultural inheritance of ancient mulberry species in Fuyang City.
As an important silkworm cocoon production base in Anhui, Fuyang City currently has about 3,500 households engaged in sericulture, including 3,000 households in Yingshang County and 380 households in Funan County. March is a critical period for spring plowing preparations. The sericulture team carried out “spring plowing” production technology guidance activities at Hengshuo Silkworm Cooperative in Funan County. Researchers Zhao Weiguo and Wang Taichu explained the key technical essentials of spring mulberry orchard pruning, pruning, fertilization and pest control, interplanting and comprehensive utilization of mulberry orchards in simple and easy-to-understand terms at the Hengshuo Silkworm Cooperative.
Scientific research experts communicated face-to-face with sericulture farmers, demonstrated step by step, and patiently answered the problems and problems encountered by sericulture farmers in production, so that sericulture farmers can truly learn, understand, and use it, laying the foundation for the development of high-yield mulberry gardens. solid foundation. Experts from Fuyang Taihe County Linhanglin Professional Cooperative Mulberry Garden put forward specific opinions on spring mulberry garden pruning, sclerotinia prevention and control, and processing and utilization. Zhifu Family Farm, Huanggang Town, Funan County, has initially taken shape in the mulberry orchard and comprehensive utilization of mulberry branches but shows the characteristics of extensive management. Experts have provided mulberry branch crushing and fermentation beds, appropriate mulberry feed ratios, and fruit mulberry variety updates. Practical suggestions to guide farmers to make scientific use.
This action is the docking and joint guidance of the national sericulture industry technology system, Hefei Comprehensive Experimental Station and Anhui Province’s characteristic agricultural industry technology system. It plays a key role in the protection of rare and precious ancient mulberry resources and the development of the sericulture industry. Comprehensive utilization of resources and extending the development chain of the sericulture industry have decisive guiding significance. Empowering with science and technology can ignite a new engine of rural revitalization, contribute to the establishment of a harmonious and beautiful countryside, and truly achieve strong agriculture, beautiful rural areas, and rich farmers.
