Guoran Farm was co-founded by the Macun Village Committee with land investment and five returned college students with capital and technology. Liu Feng is one of the partners of the returning college students.
“For many years, Macun Village has always relied on the primary industry of planting mulberry, raising silkworms, and selling mulberry fruits as its main source of income. The villagers have been slow to become rich.” Liu Feng said bluntly that college students are now encouraged to return to their hometowns to start businesses, hoping that New ideas and new thinking can create new sparks with the traditional Macun Village and bring new development vitality.

In terms of planting and raising silkworms, the team of college students who were still “rookies” decided to hire local masters with decades of experience to fully manage the business, while they themselves were responsible for publicity, operations and sales.
“First of all, we must attract traffic.” Liu Feng said that they initially plan to use Douyin, Xiaohongshu and other Internet celebrity apps as the main promotional position, by holding the Sericulture Festival, Picking Festival, and opening of Macun Village at the Macun Village Cultural Hall. A series of activities such as the live broadcast room further increased the popularity of the sericulture culture in Macun Village.
After attracting people, how to retain them?
