In the fight against the epidemic in 2020, Xiantao contributed 40% of the country’s and 80% of the province’s epidemic prevention materials, fully demonstrating the advantages of Xiantao’s nonwovens industry. At present, the nonwovens industry is the primary industry in Xiantao City. There are nearly 3,000 nonwovens companies, including 172 enterprises above designated size. In 2021, the output value will be 29.85 billion yuan, accounting for 29% of the city’s industry.Exports amounted to 5.19 billion yuan, an increase of 9.8% and 78.8% respectively compared to 2019. It has an annual output of more than 900,000 tons of nonwovens, a daily production capacity of 200 million pieces, and a daily production capacity of 3 million pieces of protective clothing. From extensive growth to resource intensification, production capacity has been continuously upgraded. After the epidemic, Xiantao seized the “opportunity period” and “window period” for the development of the nonwovens industry and established a group headed by the Municipal Party Committee Secretary. The Municipal Leading Group for Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Nonwovens Industry entrusted the China Association of Industry and Commerce to prepare the “14th Five-Year Plan” development plan; relying on the construction of “Four Bases and Two Centers”, the total planned area is approximately 14.7 square kilometers to create a world-class nonwovens industry with high standards platform; formulating special policies and arranging 10 million yuan in technical transformation subsidy funds every year. In the past two years, Xiantao has focused on extending and strengthening the industrial chain, and has gone all out to attract investment. A number of high-quality projects such as Donghaixiang Group and Maohua Shihua have successively settled in Xiantao.
