I hope that through this meeting, we can build consensus, inspire our spirits, and unify our thoughts and actions into the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Party Central Committee. Decisions and arrangements regarding economic work have been made to accelerate the upgrading and development of the industrial system of the textile industry in the new year.

The year 2022 that has just passed is an extremely important year in the history of the party and the country. We successfully convened the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, drawing a grand blueprint for comprehensively building a modern socialist country. Faced with the stormy international environment and the arduous and arduous tasks of domestic reform, development and stability, under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, the people of the country have faced the difficulties and forged ahead, coordinating both the domestic and international situations and coordinating the overall situation of the country and the world. The foreign environment is turbulent, and the impact on our economy is deepening. However, we must also note that our country’s economy is highly resilient, has great potential, and is full of vitality. The effects of various policies continue to show, and the economic and social recovery and development are significantly better than expected. Achieving high-quality transformation in the huge textile industry requires tenacity. We have the endurance and the ability to achieve it. I believe that our country’s economy will generally rebound in 2023. We must strengthen our confidence, work together, and work hard to push the development of the textile industry to new heights.

Combining the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the deployment of the Central Economic Work Conference, I will give you four opinions on doing a good job in various textile tasks this year and promoting high-quality development of the industry for your reference.

1. Accurately grasp the positioning of the textile industry, take the initiative and move forward courageously in the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation

Accurately grasping the positioning of the industry is an important foundation for clarifying development goals, identifying development directions, determining development tasks, and doing a good job in all work. Under the dual influence of historical inheritance and modern science and technology, my country’s textile industry has become the pillar of the economy, the cornerstone of people’s livelihood, and the carrier of culture. It is an industry with international competitive advantages and an important force in promoting prosperity, stability and long-term peace and order in border areas.

The textile industry is the backbone of the economy. In 2022, the added value of my country’s textile industry will account for 3.5% of the national industrial added value. From the data point of view, the textile industry’s proportion is much lower than that of light industry, machinery, petrochemical and other industries, but in fact, the textile industry is A single industry, while light industry, machinery, petrochemicals, etc. are industries integrated by multiple relatively independent industries. In a single industry comparison, the proportion of added value of the textile industry is higher than that of food, paper, wine and beverages, tobacco, special equipment manufacturing, railway, ship, aerospace equipment manufacturing and other industries, and compared with non-ferrous metals, medicine, general equipment manufacturing, automobile manufacturing and other industries Basically the same. In addition, there are many small and medium-sized enterprises in the textile industry that are not included in the statistical scope, creating a large amount of output value. Most counties (county-level cities) with a GDP of over 100 billion regard the textile industry as a pillar industry for economic development.

The textile industry is the cornerstone of people’s livelihood. The first is to provide important people’s livelihood products. my country’s textile industry continues to strengthen innovation, improve quality, reduce costs and increase efficiency, achieving reasonable prices, high quality, and novel styles, meeting the needs of various social groups for textiles and clothing, and beautifying people’s better lives. The second is to solve a large number of employment. The textile industry covers a wide range of areas, providing diverse employment opportunities in different fields such as technological innovation, production and manufacturing, and creative design. Clothing and home textiles are typicalLabor-intensive industries provide jobs for a large number of ordinary workers. Currently, more than 20 million people are employed in the textile industry in society. The third is to promote common prosperity. There are many fields in the textile industry that have low technical thresholds and low initial investment funds, providing opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship for newly graduated students and people with low education levels.
