On the morning of November 7, 2022, the National Art Fund’s 2022 Art Talent Training Funding Project “China’s Patchwork Art Inheritance and Innovative Design Talents” was hosted by Changchun Institute of Engineering and hosted by Zhejiang Patchwork Association and Zhejiang Folk Art Patchwork Museum. The National Art Fund’s 2022 talent training funding project “Chinese Patchwork Art Inheritance and Innovative Design Talent Training” aims to discover and cultivate a group of people who understand Chinese traditional patchwork art, have an art background, and cultural and creative product design and research and development High-level talents with the ability to master new concepts, new techniques, and the ability to express innovative and creative arts can improve the overall level of Chinese traditional patchwork art creation, meet the material and spiritual cultural needs of the people, and promote regional economic development and social spiritual development. Leading experts attending the opening ceremony include: Mr. Meng Yunsheng, former vice president of the China Academy of Art, honorary president of the Zhejiang Patchwork Association, Mr. Yin Shula, a national first-class artist and former director of the Collection Department of the Zhejiang Art Museum, and Mr. Ms. Chen Yongyi, Director of Professor Pan Tianshou Memorial Hall, Ms. Tong Sailing, Deputy Director and Associate Researcher of the Research and Creation Department of China Academy of Art, Ms. Chen Mingyan, Vice President of Zhejiang Patchwork Association, Professor of Wenzhou University. The opening ceremony was hosted by Mr. Li Huagang, director of the Product Design Department of Changchun Institute of Technology.
On behalf of the National Art Fund project team, Mr. Li Huagang, Director of the Product Design Department of Changchun Institute of Technology, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the leaders and experts from the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism who were invited to attend the opening ceremony. Mr. Meng Yunsheng reviewed the construction process of Zhejiang Folk Art Patchwork Museum and spoke highly of the academic background of the project. Mr. Yin Shula said at the opening ceremony that the development of Chinese patchwork has benefited from continuous improvement and pioneering spirit. Compared with foreign countries, we still have a long way to go. During this study, students should live up to the high-quality teaching resources provided by the National Art Fund, study with concentration, and develop their own path to patchwork art in China.
Ms. Chen Mingyan, Vice President of the Zhejiang Quilt Association, spoke on behalf of the Zhejiang Quilt Association. She said that this project will make the development of Chinese quilting based on the international community and it is of great significance to create a path for quilting art with Chinese characteristics. As one of the ancient birthplaces of patchwork, China’s patchwork industry has a future full of opportunities and challenges. Finally, she wished the “Chinese Patchwork Art Inheritance and Innovative Design Talent Training” project a complete success.
Mr. Yuan Jinlong, associate professor of Anhui Agricultural University, said that he was honored to speak here as a student representative. First, on behalf of all new students, he would like to thank the leaders of the National Art Fund Management Center and the main project organizer for their foresight and careful organization of this training.
At the same time, he mentioned that on behalf of all students, he was determined to achieve the following points:
1. Improve ideological understanding and resolutely complete learning tasks. With a high sense of responsibility and mission, a scientific attitude and a pragmatic style, adhere to high standards and strict requirements, work diligently and successfully complete your studies.
2. Strict organizational discipline and abide by various rules and regulations. Achieve “three musts and three no’s”, that is: respect teachers and unite classmates; listen attentively and take notes; communicate actively and make progress together; do not be late, leave early, or be absent without excuse.
3. Learn every lesson well and pass all assessments smoothly.
