New energy storage demonstration project put into operation Keqiao printing and dyeing enterprise uses “zero carbon steam” for the first time
Recently, in the Tianshi Low-Carbon Industrial Park in Keqiao Printing and Dyeing Cluster, Shaoxing, a stream of zero-carbon environmentally friendly steam was transported into the city instead of the steam produced by natural gas. The pipeline has been installed, officially kicking off the use of new energy storage technology in Keqiao District, Shaoxing City.
It is understood that the steam used in printing and dyeing plants has always been produced by coal or natural gas. “Producing this zero-carbon environmentally friendly steam is the province’s first user-side molten salt energy storage project that we built over seven months. It is also one of the first batch of new energy storage demonstration projects in the province’s 14th Five-Year Plan.” Shaoxing Yu Jianqiang, deputy general manager of Green Power Energy Co., Ltd., introduced that the project uses a molten salt energy storage system to draw electricity during the off-peak period of the power grid, convert it into thermal energy and store it in a molten salt tank. During peak hours, it can provide 24 hours of working time for the printing and dyeing setting machine. Medium pressure steam required.
This project was constructed by Zhejiang Tiansheng Holding Group Co., Ltd. with an investment of 200 million yuan. The first phase of the demonstration project covers an area of more than 10 acres. After it is put into use, it can generate 32 million kilowatt hours of electricity and supply 420,000 tons of steam every year, which can save standard 77,500 tons of coal and approximately 145,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions reduced.
“When the production capacity is full, the project can supply about 50 tons of environmentally friendly steam per hour. Compared with the current natural gas used, it can save about 3 million yuan in costs every month. We will continue to plan in the future Lay out this project.” Yu Jianqiang said that in addition to the energy cost advantage, the temperature and pressure output of environmentally friendly steam are also more stable, allowing the setting machine to be in the best parameter state, further improving production efficiency.
As one of the guiding technologies for the development of new energy storage in the province, the molten salt energy storage project not only provides a practical path for Keqiao’s printing and dyeing industry to shift to low-carbon and green development , and also plays a role in peak-cutting and valley-filling of the power grid. “Charging during off-peak hours can also alleviate the pressure on the power grid during peak hours through peak power generation. Moreover, charging uses green electricity, which can not only energy saving and emission reduction but also improve the efficiency of the northwest.
