Zhejiang Sci-Tech University “Silk Charity Development Fund” was established

On October 26, on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, the donation and establishment ceremony of the “Zhejiang Sci-Tech UniversitySilk Charity Development Fund” was held.

Gu Xinrong, Chairman of Zhejiang Lansheng Asset Management Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Xinida Industrial Co., Ltd., and Nanchong Xinda Yunhe Printing and Dyeing Co., Ltd., Director Chen Weiwei, Executive Vice President Cheng Weiguo, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Zhejiang Science and Technology University Chen Wenxing Yao Jun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang Science and Technology University, and Chen Jianyong, chairman of the Zhejiang Science and Technology University Education Development Foundation, attended the meeting.

On behalf of the school, Yao Jun first paid tribute to Mr. and Mrs. Gu Xinrong for their devotion to the silk industry and their support for education, and expressed his gratitude for their concern and support for the construction and development of the school. She introduced the construction and development of the school in recent years, the development pattern of three campuses and one center, and pointed out that the development history of Zhejiang Science and Technology University has always adhered to silk textiles as the foundation of the school and insisted on serving the inheritance and development of China’s silk industry. The establishment of the Silk Charity Development Fund is a link between the school and the silk industry. The school will live up to expectations, manage and use donated funds well, and continue to promote highquality development of the school.

Gu Xinrong said that the development and growth of “Xinyida” is rooted in silk. Thanks to silk, he and his company have deep feelings for silk. Zhejiang Sci-Tech University has a long history of 125 years and has cultivated a large number of experts in the field of textile and silk. This time, he is deeply honored to contribute his modest contribution to the development of silk education in China through a donation fund.

It is understood that the “Zhejiang Sci-Tech University Silk Charity Development Fund” is jointly launched by Zhejiang Sci-Tech University and the International Silk Union, and invites representative enterprises, institutions and individuals in the international and domestic silk industry to participate. The fund will provide support for talent training, scientific research, academic publishing, scientific and technological cultural exchanges and public welfare activities in the silk industry, promote the virtuous cycle and sustainable development of the silk industry, and safeguard the fundamental interests of the international silk industry.

Gu Xinrong and his delegation also visited the National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory of “Textile Fiber Materials and Processing Technology” of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education of “Advanced Textile Materials and Preparation Technology”, and the Analysis and Testing Center.
