Our country is a big manufacturing country. There are 48.42 million manufacturing companies in the country, of which 170,000 are in the clothing manufacturing industry, accounting for 0.35%. Regardless of the national manufacturing industry or the clothing manufacturing industry, more than 90% of them are small, medium and micro enterprises. Among the 170,000 garment manufacturing industries, there are 13,000 enterprises above designated size, accounting for nearly 8%. Judging from the leading data of the garment industry, my country’s annual output of sewing equipment is 15.5 million units (including 10 million units of industrialsewing machinery and 0.5 million units of cutting and finishing equipment Taiwan and 5 million home machines), with an annual clothing output of 71.2 billion pieces, ranking first in the world and a well-deserved clothing power.

From the 1980s to 2021, it is the forty years of my country’s reform and opening up. In these forty years, the number of garment manufacturing companies in our country has increased from 7,700 to 170,000, an increase of 21 times; the number of employees in the garment manufacturing industry has increased from 7,700 to 170,000. The number of people increased from 750,000 to 8.26 million, a tenfold increase. Such a huge garment manufacturing industry was created through four stages of development in the past forty years: the first stage is the preliminary industrialization stage, which lasted from 1980 to 1995, that is, during the National Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Five-Year Plans. , the main content is from traditional processing technology and equipment to modern processing technology and equipment; the second stage is to enter the modern industrialization stage, which lasts from 1996 to 2005, that is, during the National Ninth Five-Year Plan and the Tenth Five-Year Plan, the main content is informatization Drive industrialization, and industrialization promotes the development of informatization; the third stage is the stage of practicing modern industrialization, which lasts from 2006 to 2015, that is, during the National 11th and 12th Five-Year Plans. Nowadays, people often ask, since we are now a big clothing country, are we also a clothing power? We should look at this issue this way. In 2012, the “Outline for Building a Strong Textile Country” formulated by the ChinaTextile Industry Federation pointed out that by 2020, we must achieve a strong textile and apparel country. At the end of 2020, the Chinese Academy of Engineering organized academicians and experts to compare and analyze my country’s 26 manufacturing industries and manufacturing powerhouses, and concluded that my country has 5 industries that are at the world’s advanced level, among which the textile industry is the leader. This also means that my country’s goal of becoming a textile power has been basically achieved. Chen Dapeng, President of the China Garment Association, published the article “Fashion Power to Build a Clothing Power” in the special issue of textiles and clothing for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party. He said: “China’s clothing industry has continued to grow and develop, and has generally entered the ranks of the world’s clothing manufacturing powers. Facing new developments, During this period, China’s apparel industry must take advantage of the momentum to accelerate the pace of innovation and strive to build a fashion power that creates, contributes and promotes the world by 2035.” Therefore, I think that my country’s clothing industry has generally entered the list of clothing powerhouses, but it is not yet at the forefront of the world’s clothing powerhouses.

What can be called a clothing power today must be a clothing technology power, a digital intelligence power, a brand power, a talent power and a sustainable development power. To be more specific, a clothing power must achieve eight leaders: ① It must lead in high-level and high-tech innovation clothing; ② It must have advanced standards and lead the world in high-quality clothing. ; ③ Target low-carbonization and create a leader in green clothing; ④ Take the lead in digital intelligent transformation and create a leader in clothing smart factories; ⑤ Use digitalization to empower clothing varieties, clothing quality, and clothing brands to create a leader in fashion clothing; ⑥ Collaborate globally In the process of globalization development, we must have leading clothing with Chinese characteristics; ⑦ we must have a high-quality service system to provide global customers; ⑧ we must have the world’s highest-quality scientific and technological talent team. Comparing these conditions, if we just talk about the current leading position in digital intelligent transformation and the leading position in creating smart clothing factories, there is still a big gap among my country’s 170,000 garment manufacturing industries, especially among small, medium and micro enterprises, which account for more than 90%.

The reason why the digital intelligent transformation of my country’s 13,000 enterprises above designated size is relatively good is that there are good demonstration enterprises as role models, which can be referenced and copied. For example: In 2018, McKinsey & Company and the World Economic Forum (WEF) launched the global selection “Lighthouse Factory” project to find digital transformation models in the manufacturing industry and lead the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry. In the past three years, there have been people from many countries around the world, 90 factories from different industries were selected as “Lighthouse Factories”, of which China alone has 31, including one in the apparel industry, Alibaba Rhino Factory. In 2022, there will be 114 “lighthouse factories” in the world, including 42 in China. Rhino Digital Intelligent Factory has become a world-class demonstration factory. From a technical point of view, it has based the entire clothing enterprise business on the cloud and rewritten all the clothing industry application software. In order to be an industry digital demonstrator, they have built their own business Internet services. platform, this platform can serve as a demonstrationFocus on and extend the digital transformation of the whole business and process. Encourage the development of low-cost, lightweight, platform-based, and quick-result digital solutions that meet the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises. Actively promote small and medium-sized enterprises to move to the cloud and platforms, reduce technical and financial barriers, and accelerate the digital transformation of enterprises. ③Building an incubation platform should give full play to the advantages of large leading enterprises in R&D, innovation, management, market, supply chain, professional services, etc., so that small and medium-sized enterprises related to the industry chain and capable of innovation can share these high-quality resources on the platform to support more Many small and medium-sized enterprises are developing in the direction of specialization, refinement, distinctiveness and novelty.

In addition to the small and medium-sized enterprises in industrial clusters in the vast territory of our country, there are also more small, medium and micro clothing enterprises scattered across the larger area. I think there are only the following three ways for these enterprises to move towards digital intelligent transformation. The method is effective: ① Rent an industrial Internet service platform with good credibility, such as the China Garment Science and Technology Innovation Research Institute platform, Haier’s COSMOPLANT platform, Alibaba Rhino Factory platform, China Unicom Legion platform, etc.; ② It is recommended to use low-cost digital intelligent manufacturing technology , such as using more stand-alone machine automation and unit machine automation, replacing expensive processing modules composed of “robots + intelligent sewing equipment” with “human + intelligent sewing equipment”; ③ Guide and encourage small, medium and micro enterprises to cooperate with industry, academia and research, etc. .

The purpose of digital intelligent transformation is to ultimately realize intelligent manufacturing in the manufacturing industry. Intelligent manufacturing factories are based on the realization of digital transformation. On June 24, 2022, the World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference officially opened in Tianjin. He said that the next fifteen years will be a critical period for the development of intelligent manufacturing as the core technology of a new round of industrial revolution.
