Hechi Yizhou District’s performance display of silkworm and silk industry work in the first three quarters of 2022
With the correct leadership of the Yizhou District Committee, the District People’s Government of Hechi City, Guangxi, and the joint efforts of relevant departments, in 2022, Yizhou’s sericulture industry will continue to advance steadily and achieve certain results. The results of Yizhou District’s silkwormsilk industry work in the first three quarters of 2022 are now displayed as follows:
1. Highlights of work in the first three quarters
(1) The 2022 Guangxi sericulture industry high quality development on-site promotion meeting will be held in Yizhou on September 20, 2022. The main contents of the on-site promotion meeting are: first, summarizing and exchanging the development results and typical experiences of the sericulture industry; second, researching and deploying the development work of the sericulture industry in the region; third, carrying out technical training for the high-quality development of the sericulture industry. Six cities and counties (districts) including Hechi City and Yizhou District made typical speeches at this meeting due to their outstanding work results.
(2) Do a good job in transforming low-yielding mulberry orchards. The district has created three demonstration bases in Ping Village, Desheng Town, Mutangtun, Anma Township, and Liuhe Community, Liu Sanjie Town. The project has been implemented and has achieved remarkable results. A 150-acre high-yield demonstration base was created in Desheng Community, Desheng Town, becoming a new model for the transformation of mulberry gardens in the district.
(3) The Modern Agricultural Industrial Park of Yizhou District, Hechi City has entered the list of autonomous region-level modern agricultural industrial parks to be established in 2022, with a project capital of 5 million yuan.
(4) Yizhou District, Huanjiang County and Laibin City Xiangzhou County were awarded the Guangxi SericultureIndustrial Cluster project.
(5) Hechi City, as the leading city, and Yizhou District as the core area, successfully applied for Guangxi’s sericulture advantageous and characteristic industrial cluster.
2. Main work measures and results
(1) Strengthen technical guidance services for silkworm production and build a solid foundation for the silkworm industry. In view of the climate characteristics and the main season of sericulture, the district promptly organized district, township, and village technical personnel (technical teams) to go deep into the front lines of mulberry garden management and silkworm disease prevention and control, and adopted various methods to guide silkworm farmers to do a good job in mulberry silkworm production.
In the first three quarters, the area of mulberry gardens in Yizhou District reached 392,500 acres, 44,200 acres of low-yield mulberry gardens were transformed, 85,000 sericulture households were raised, 1.463 million silkworm seeds were raised, and a total of 1.42 million commercial silkworms were bred. 10,000 pieces, the co-breeding rate of silkworms was 98%, the cocoon output was 66,800 tons, a year-on-year increase of 24.85%, and farmers earned 3 billion yuan from selling cocoons; 92 technical training sessions were carried out for 5,980 people, and 6,050 materials were distributed.
(2) The production capacity of the cocoon and silk processing industry continues to expand, and the industrial chain continues to extend. In recent years, Yizhou has further improved its investment environment, vigorously attracted investment and optimized service methods. Promote Hechi Hengye Cocoon Silk Co., Ltd., Guangxi Jialian Silk Co., Ltd. and other leading enterprises to implement silk weaving technology transformation and capacity expansion projects; the Guangxi Guose Tencel Industrial Park project has started construction in Yizhou. There are currently 15 cocoon silk enterprises listed on the scale. The total output value of the cocoon silk industry in the first three quarters was 1.45 billion yuan. The output of white silk silk reached 2,900 tons, and the output of gray silk will reach 2.8 million meters.
(3) Resource utilization upgrade and expansion. The district focuses on the comprehensive utilization of mulberry branches, silkworm excrement, cocoons and other silkworm resources, and continues to increase support for mulberry branch edible fungi. In the first three quarters of 2022, 150,000 beds of silk quilts were processed, with an output value of about 180 million yuan; farmers conducted harmless treatment by themselves and companies collected about 120,000 tons of silkworm excrement, and companies collected silkworm excrement and processed it into organic fertilizer, a total of 13,000 tons, with an output value of about 1,300 yuan. Ten thousand yuan. The cultivation scale of mulberry branch edible fungi has reached 1.8 million square meters, producing 7,500 tons of fresh mushrooms with an output value of 70 million yuan.
(4) New progress has been made in brand building. Ping Village (Silkworm) in Desheng Town was selected into the “Eleventh Batch of National “One Village, One Product” Demonstration Villages and Towns List”. Desheng Town Silkworm “Three Products and One Standard” Base was selected into the 100 “Three Products and One Standard” bases in the planting industry across the country. Among the top ten raw silk brands in Guangxi selected in 2021, 4 brands from Yizhou District were selected. Among the top ten silk quilt brands in Guangxi, 3 brands from Yizhou District were selected.
(5) Industrial market inspections are carried out in an orderly manner. Various industries and departments in the district have strengthened services and achieved significant results in accepting corporate complaints, standardizing and rectifying market management of silkworm seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and veterinary drugs, and conducting law enforcement inspections of silkworm materials.
