Luo Xinlu is a major cotton grower in Sati Village. His more than 500 acres of cotton are growing well this year. What is different from previous years is that this year all cotton was harvested by machine. It took less than two days to complete the machine-picking operation. Luo Xinlu said happily: “The cotton picking machine has high harvesting efficiency. It saves time, effort and money than manual picking.”
In recent years, the degree of agricultural mechanization in the Aksu region has been continuously improved. The Aksu region is a major cotton planting area, with a total of 7.4 million acres of cotton planted this year. Statistical data shows that this year the area of machine-picked cotton planting model in Aksu region reached 7.09 million acres, which provides prerequisites for the full mechanization of cotton production. It is expected that more than 1,100 cotton picking machines will be put into field operation this autumn, with the mechanized harvesting rate reaching more than 80%. This alone can save hundreds of millions of yuan in harvesting costs and also advance the end of cotton harvesting by about 10 days.
