Luntai, Xinjiang: Cotton harvest is good, cotton pickers are galloping in the cotton fields
In the golden autumn of October, more than 100,000 acres of cotton harvested in Qunbach Town, Luntai County, Xinjiang. Cotton farmers were busy picking cotton. Cotton picking machines were operating efficiently in the “cotton sea”, creating a busy scene.
In Akeya Village, Qunbake Town, the cotton fields are white as snow, and large cotton picking machines shuttle back and forth in the “cotton sea”. Accompanied by the roar of machinery, the cotton picking machine works at full strength, and the packed cotton bales are neatly discharged one by one.
In the cotton field of cotton farmer Liu Shiqiang, the cotton picking machine shuttles back and forth in the cotton field to pick cotton. Looking at the cotton bales packed and neatly arranged, Liu Shiqiang feels happy. “This year I have planted more than 200 acres of cotton. It used to take more than ten days to pick cotton manually, but now it can be picked in about 2 days by machine. Cotton planting machine can mechanize the entire harvesting process, which greatly saves time and cotton picking costs. , which is much more labor-saving than manual picking in previous years.” Liu Shiqiang said.
With the continuous deepening of the scientific and mechanized level of cotton planting, the fast-paced and low-cost “machine cotton picking” planting model has become the first choice of many cotton farmers, effectively solving the problems of cotton farmers hiring workers in autumn and picking time. , effectively increasing farmers’ income.
Fei Xiongxiong, the first secretary of Akeya Village, said: “This year, 95% of the more than 38,000 acres of cotton planted in our village adopts the machine picking mode. A cotton picking machine can pick more than 300 acres of cotton every day, which is the same as manual picking. Compared with picking, the cost can be greatly saved. At present, cotton work has entered the comprehensive picking stage.”
This year, Qunbake Town planned, prepared, and started early, reasonably arranged the “Three Autumn” work, provided full service during the cotton harvesting process, and provided logistical support to ensure that new cotton returned to the warehouse in a timely manner. At present, more than 100,000 acres of cotton planted in the area have all entered the harvesting period. In the next step, Qunbake Town will continue to strengthen agricultural production services, grasp needs in a timely manner and coordinate solutions, and effectively ensure the agricultural autumn harvest.
