On August 24, Liu Yujie, deputy secretary of the Fuyang Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, held a working meeting with the main person in charge of INVISTA (China) Investment Co., Ltd. in Shanghai. The two parties decided to carry out strategic cooperation and jointly build a high-end chemical industry in FuyangNew MaterialsThe entire nylon 66 industry chain, and witnessed the signing of a nylon 66 production line project between Anhui Haoyuan Chemical Group and Kangtex (Shanghai) Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd.

Anhui Haoyuan Chemical Group will cooperate with Invista and Contax to build a nylon 66 continuous polymerization production line with an annual output of 400,000 tons. The total planned investment in the project is 4.1 billion yuan. After completion and operation, it can achieve annual sales revenue of more than 11 billion yuan.

American chemist Wallace Carothers went through many experiments to discover a fiber that has a similar appearance and gloss to natural silk, and is also high-strength and wear-resistant – nylon 66. In 1938, Carothers Sese’s research and development results were officially granted a patent. In 1939, DuPont began officially producing nylon 66 at the world’s first nylon production plant in Delaware, USA. Because of its high comprehensive properties such as high temperature resistance, hydrolysis resistance, wear resistance, good flame retardancy, moderate density, etc., it is widely used in the fields of engineering plastics, industrial fibers and civil fibers.

INVISTA is a global manufacturer of chemical intermediates, polymers and fibers. In 2004, Koch Industries acquired INVISTA (formerly DuPont Textile and Interior Materials) from DuPont to provide nylon 66 series products, specialty chemical intermediates, and proprietary technology licensing.
