Cotton in Bachu County has gradually entered the cotton spinning period, and field management is busy

At present, 1.24 million acres of cotton in Bachu County, Kashgar Prefecture, is growing well and has gradually entered the cotton-shedding period. In the past few days, on the premise of epidemic prevention and control, various towns and villages in Bachu County have actively organized agricultural technicians to go deep into the fields to guide cotton farmers in cotton field management to ensure a bumper cotton harvest.

On August 22, walking into the cotton field in Kuona Qiongkulcak Village, Qiongkulchak Township, Bachu County, one cotton plant was covered with cotton bolls, and some of the cotton bolls had split open to reveal snow-white cotton wool. In order to increase production, cotton farmer Aikbal Abulikmu is strengthening field management of his 22 acres of cotton to ensure high quality and high yield of cotton. Agricultural technicians also came to the cotton fields to analyze the cotton situation with the cotton farmers and explain to them the key points of late cotton field management.

Villager Aikber said: “Technicians from the township often come to guide me in field management work such as spraying pesticides and fertilizing. This year, cotton is growing very well. I will follow the technician’s guidance to apply defoliants in the future. I hope there will be more flowers this year.” A good harvest.”

There are more than 3,400 acres of cotton planted in Kuonaqiongkulchak Village, of which 1,200 acres are machine-picked cotton. The high-quality machine-picked cotton has thick stalks and has reached a critical period for the growth of bolls and catkins.

Villager Aike Baier said: “At present, cotton is growing well. One cotton plant will bear at least 11 bolls, and as many as 20 bolls. We will do a good job in field management in the later period and strive to achieve a yield of 400 kilograms per mu.”

It is understood that the cotton planting area in Bachu County this year is 1.246 million acres, of which 991,100 acres are for machine-picked cotton. Officials and agricultural technicians from various towns and villages went deep into the fields to provide technical support to cotton farmers, laying a solid foundation for high cotton yields and increased income for cotton farmers.
